Inthe "About" section in General, it says the Carrier Lock has "No SIM restrictions". However, when I tried to activate through Verizon they said the phone couldn't be added since the IMEI1 is locked to a carrier. When I look at the ESIM section, it says the carrier is iPhone 56.0. Underneath, there is a section for available SIM that lists the IMEI2. Any thoughts?

I am having the same problem. Purchase an unlocked Iphone 15 Pro Max directly from Apple and it was delivered today. It is saying the same thing as what the original poster said. I am just going to return the phone to Apple. I don't have the patience to deal with this but I am curious what is going on.

Update to my earlier post. I went to Verizon and selected active new device on existing line. Then I selected Activate a Sim. I entered the Imei2 number from my Iphone 15 which activated the eSim on the verizon network. I was able to activate the phone after that.. Hope this helps.

This is one of the reasons why buying a used phone is so risky. Users often find out that the phone is not only carrier locked, it is also blacklisted....meaning that the phone can't be used....even if it is unlocked.

I have same problem as you. Google says verizon iphone unlock their phones after 60 days, I brought new iphone 15 1 month ago, can i wait 60 days or do something for my support esim. Did you knew which carrier is iphone 56.0
