Hi,

We are proud working with a such cost-effective software as pervasync. New versions came up and we would like to upgrade pvs server and client....

But at the same time we would like to change pvs server's workstation.

Do you think it is possible to install pvs server 3.1 on another computer then import shema config from 2.1 keeping 2.1 in production state  ?

Is it possible to keep two pvs servers connected to 1 oracle database without any problem during the upgrade process ?

What is the impact on pvs clients and how to proceed in order to keep schema and data ?

Hi Yann,

Sorry but 2.1 can not be directly upgraded to 3.1 without an un-
installation. 3.0 can. We will do our best to make sure that version
3.0 and newer will be able to be upgraded to the latest versions from
now on.

You would have to un-install 2.1 and then install 3.1. For the server,
before you un-install, export the publication metadata (schema config
in your words) to XML using the Pervasync Admin Console. After 3.1
installation, publish using the exported XML.

Client would also need to be un-installed followed by 3.1
installation.

Also contact Pervasync sales to get a new license key for the new
version and new host.

Thanks,

Pervasync Support
