Hi all I've pretty much decided to move out further into the country, about 2 - 3 hrs south of Perth to Kulikup, because I have an opportunity to set up a model sustainable farm on a rented paddock with a farmhouse. I'd like to keep in touch via this list and the website.
But in order to move I have something I've just put on the site, an old Kriesler stereogram. The power cord crumbled and the dial cord needs re-stringing, but aside from that this old valve stereo is in extremely good condition, speaker cones are almost perfectly preserved, speaker grille cloth is in very good condition, the cabinet has a couple of spots where varnish has gone milky or crumbled. The turntable even looks as though it will work fine once power's restored, all the old electro and paper capacitors are absolutely in factory looking condition, the valves are in good nick, and I've just run out of time. If I cart it out to the bush it'll be away from its provenance, too - it was bought in Perth and moved out to Sth Yunderup and that (as far as I know) was with only one owner, so it's got history here and would be a shame to take it away from that.
I know these can fetch heaps in restored condition, and one in as good condition as this one can fetch up to a thousand dollars in the right market. I don't want to bounce it 300km in a trailer or furniture van, this is a piece of Perth/South Yunderup history, and I mainly want to trade it to someone who will appreciate it and keep it for history's sake. I advertised it on Gumtree for $350 and had one enquiry but at the last minute I backed out because I wasn't sure of the buyer.
So if anyone has an offer that includes a CX component I'd really like to talk to you and arrange to trade.
