Ispossible to use another channel number because the channel 1 is already used by another cable modem / WiFi router and turning on (and using) the hotspot on the iPhone causes noticeable degradation of the speed on the cable-WiFi router.
No - the OS picks channels algorithmically so you get what iOS chooses each time you enable personal hot spot. I've seen personal hotspot pick channels 1, 6 and 11 on iOS 7 when in moderately busy wireless environments like this one with 26 advertising base stations (and a few hidden ones as well).
Whilst you can't enforce a specific channel on iOS, it does attempt to select the best channel for the situation. I have found that a combination of standing directly next to the router and enabling/disabling Personal Hotspot until you get a channel you want seems to work well enough.
Hmmm,Yes i have that channel problem too. i reserched and found that inssider program.Serving to find out which channel your phone using or other wifi spots. Bad news is u cant edit phones hotspot channel unless its jailbroken.(i didnt try that)Using my phone with stock OS. İf you have ip4 and dont have ios7 u can try JB.İF not meaning u have 4 and ios 7 never ever try to JB.
Unfortunately, due to Apple not providing signatures on older versions, not really recommended currently to downgrade to previous versions because the device may actually get stuck back on an older version and not be able to upgrade again. (so, not for the faint of heart to attempt the downgrade).
Not sure if you are interested but you can try the beta 17.5 if you want. (sign up as beta tester, then from your device should see the beta build as available). Of course, no guarantees there won't be more bugs in the beta builds.
Other than a possible buggy update, I think I would look under the Mobile Network connections of both phones (hotspots) and see if anything under the "APN" section stands out. I would also likely try a factory reset of the problem phone and see if that helps with any possible corruption.
The only difference in the hotspots of the iphones is one has not had the latest update. One works and one doesn't . I think Roku support should get in touch with Apple support as they are not thinking that way.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We'd be more than happy to look into this further. May we know the mobile device model and version you used that has an issue? Also, have you tried connecting your Roku device to another wireless connection or connecting to your router using an Ethernet or wired network cable?
5Ghz hotspot is invisible in EU, because my s10e (exynos version form europe distribution) generates wifi at 149 (US high band 3) channel. In EU, devices can only detect channels 36-48 (low band 1). Is there any way to change manually 5Ghz channel to low band 1?
I agree, I paid extra for a premium phone thats lacking features that are on phones that cost half as much. I bought this phone because android doesn't have the ridiculous limitations that Apple enforces on their users only to find Samsung doing the same stupid stuff. This is my last Samsung phone, I wish I had bought the LG now.
I have the same problem with my S21FE and Android 13 in Germany. How incompetent is Samsung so that this is still a problem? I have a few devices which cant find the S21FE Hotspot in 5Ghz. After investigating into this, it seems plausible to me, that the S21FE uses some high channel like 1xx which most devices cant find in EU/Germany. For example my Google Chromecast with TV 4k cant find the S21FE 5Ghz hotspot, where a laptop of mine with an Intel Wifi card can find it, and I verified with it that it was some high channel like 14x it used.
If you're referring to the one built into Froyo (and I assume Gingerbread), when you're creating your hostspot hit the Menu button and you'll see Advanced options. In there you can select the channel.
I have an Nexus One (Android version 2.3.6) and I have not found any advanced menu accessible from the menu button and I've tried hitting the menu button to no avail in every WiFi tethering page. I've only been able to change SSID, Key & Security mode.
I have seen the other threads talking about you not being able to change the default channel, and that is fine as I can configure my router. Can anyone just confirm which one it uses though, or does it vary by manufacturer? If so would you know for Xiaomi and Samsung? Thanks =]
On the 2.4 Ghz band it picked channel 8, so I doubt there is default to which channel uses, at least not here. It might either pick at random, or do a short channel scan itself and pick an optimal channel.

Myotonia congenita (MC) is the commonest genetic skeletal muscle ion channelopathy. It is caused by mutations in CLCN1 on chromosome 7q35, which alter the function of the major skeletal muscle voltage-gated chloride channel. Dominant and recessive forms of the disease exist. We have undertaken a clinical, genetic and molecular expression study based upon a large cohort of over 300 UK patients. In an initial cohort of 22 families, we sequenced the DNA of the entire coding region of CLCN1 and identified 11 novel and 11 known mutations allowing us to undertake a detailed genotype-phenotype correlation study. Generalized muscle hypertrophy, transient weakness and depressed tendon reflexes occurred more frequently in recessive than dominant MC. Mild cold exacerbation and significant muscle pain were equally common features in dominant and recessive cases. Dominant MC occurred in eight families. We noted that four newly identified dominant mutations clustered in exon 8, which codes for a highly conserved region of predicted interaction between the CLC-1 monomers. Expressed in Xenopus oocytes these mutations showed clear evidence of a dominant-negative effect. Based upon the analysis of mutations in this initial cohort as well as a review of published CLCN1 mutations, we devised an exon hierarchy analysis strategy for genetic screening. We applied this strategy to a second cohort of 303 UK cases with a suspected diagnosis of MC. In 23 individuals, we found two mutations and in 86 individuals we identified a single mutation. Interestingly, 40 of the cases with a single mutation had dominant exon 8 mutations. In total 48 individuals (from 34 families) in cohort 1 and 2 were found to harbour dominant mutations (37% of mutation positive individuals, 30% of mutation positive families). In total, we have identified 23 new disease causing mutations in MC, confirming the high degree of genetic heterogeneity associated with this disease. The DNA-based strategy we have devised achieved a genetic diagnosis in 36% of individuals referred to our centre. Based on these results, we propose that exon 8 of CLCN1 is a hot-spot for dominant mutations. Our molecular expression studies of the new exon 8 mutations indicate that this region of the chloride channel has an important role in dominant negative interactions between the two chloride channel monomers. Accurate genetic counselling in MC should be based not only upon clinical features and the inheritance pattern but also on molecular genetic analysis and ideally functional expression data.
If you experience an unstable wireless connection to your Wi-Fi Hotspot, changing the channel may help. Remember, you need to establish a connection to the modem settings menu before you can use this function.
The waters off Mozambique are becoming a major new security hotspot in the Indian Ocean. An Islamist insurrection in northern Mozambique that the government seems powerless to suppress has also increasingly led to disruption in the Mozambique Channel, a key global shipping route. The Quad countries and European partners must help contain the problem before other actors step into a regional vacuum.
Armed clashes escalated sharply in 2020, with attacks spilling over the border into Tanzania, where the government faces local Islamist extremists. There are also growing attacks on maritime infrastructure. In August, insurgents seized a key port in northern Mozambique from government forces, raising concerns that this is a first step in insurgents venturing into piracy, as occurred in the Horn of Africa.
The Mozambique government, which is in severe debt distress, is unable to take effective action against the insurgency, and has increasingly relied on mercenaries. But it has been somewhat reluctant to accept international assistance.
France and other European partners are now stepping up efforts to contain the problem. France is historically a leading maritime security provider in the southwest Indian Ocean, with two French frigates and patrol boats based in French Reunion. But France lacks maritime patrol aircraft based in the region.
