after five years of effort, 'fun q' is now available on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1734467509

what started as a fun project of porting a few machine-learning algorithms to q, turned into an all-consuming obsession.

whether you are a data scientist looking to learn q, or a kdb+ developer looking to learn machine learning there is something for everyone.

i was tempted to keep writing more algorithms, but realized i needed to save some material for 'fun q 2'!

i hope you have as much fun reading 'fun q' as i had writing it.

the github repo can be found here: https://www.fun-q.net

swag can be found on the vector sigma teespring site: https://teespring.com/stores/vectorsigma

note: i am disappointed to mention that the e-book is not available yet because the formulas provided in the book do not render on the .mobi kindle e-book format. i am working on alternatives.

happy qoding!

Awesome Nick! Thank you. Hope you get your eBook online soon.

I made an automated trader from machine learning, though it didn't make money, it was an enjoyable exercise.

Just getting started Nick and I have picked up both Fun q and Q Tips.  They are both well written and laid out in an easy to audit format. I look forward to reading up on both!

i'm happy to announce that the kindle e-book version of 'fun q' is now available: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R5W95WF

this has been a constant request and i finally found the time/method to convert the math formulas (both formal and inline) to images.

the formatting is obviously not as procured as a printed book, but you do get the benefit of portability, syntax highlighting and all the links (both internal and external) work.

wishing you a happy holidays and a safe/successful 2021.
