Dear Allies,
I hope you are weathering the storm okay. Just a few internal Coalition updates and National updates.
Coalition Updates
· We have 22 official members of the Coalition! If you have been invited to the Coalition, you can still join at any time.
· We had a Coalition conference call on 3/5 where we discussed the possibility of Senator Montgomery amending the bill. We have decided to not recommend any amendments to the bill for now and we have a plan! (minutes attached)
· We had a Lobby Day planning call. RedUP has scheduled 5 training days – so stay tuned for materials to advertise Lobby Day and the trainings! (minutes attached)
· Be on the lookout for an email from Erin Drinkwater (Brooklyn Community Pride Center). She will be collecting votes from each official member of the Coalition for the Executive Committee election.
· We will be mail merging and sending out our Letter to the Assembly and Senate by the end of next week.
· The Nassau District Attorney has enacted a comprehensive policy to not use condoms in any prostitution-related case, including trafficking. (attached)
