Hey all,
Letting you know about speaking events/trainings I have scheduled for this fall. It is my hope that we can either encourage members to speak at this events (for money) or have other staff (i.e., not me) speak at them. Here's what I've got so far:
1. Careers in Sexuality Conference at Widener (will drive down w/ me) - October 24 in the afternoon
You would be on a panel with SWP, Dawn's Place (a sanctuary house for trafficking survivors in Philly, and Project Safe), talking generally about sex worker issues.
2. Occupational Health Panel at John Jay College - November 5 (not sure of time yet)
Samantha Majic is putting together a panel on sex work as work, and wants us to focus on health. This would also be a general discussion on whatever we chose to talk about (probably our report).
3. Training at the HOTT Program at Callen Lorde - Nov. 12
This one is more specific - they have requested a training on how to talk to their youth about sex trade involvement and safety planning.
All of these will require prep and doing a bit of mock presentations. And speaking of mock presentations, Gabby, I will do one for you this Tuesday!
So, what members do we think might be interested? Who might be interested on staff?
