Does anyone know any font other than "Courier New" that is monospaced
and support arabic characters? Something a tad more pleasant to the
eye than this damn courier new!

DejaVu Mono, but it's not much more beautiful.

For Arabic script, I think this is the best you can come up with, for
a font that should contain equal space for dal and beh.

Thanks Guys,

DejaVu Sans Mono is much better than Courier New. Although not ideal, and that's because of the nature of the language and character shapes, as Behnam pointed.

I really like google's new font family "Droid" and specially their monospace font Droid Sans Mono
I'm sure they're gonna add Arabic characters to their font family, since it's the base font for the Android platform and sooner or later they need to add Arabic support to Android. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that they come up with a more beautiful monospace font for Arabic.

Even *if* they add Arabic support to Droid Sans, they may simply
ignore the mono version, since it's doesn't have so many use cases.

I don't think this is possible. If a font is mono spaced, it should
be so for any character it contains. The point is that for Arabic
script, the aesthetics choices for presentation are very very
limited. Almost none.

Pleasant is in the eye of the beholder. But DejaVu Mono does support Arabic. The Arabic glyphs have a Tahoma feeling to them:
