Hi folks,

I've just imported the UNIX server for perscon into the repository, although it's not quite working yet. Because it's no longer quite 'py-perscon', I've renamed the repository to http://github.com/avsm/perscon , and updated links from the website... anyone with a checkout will need to update your git config or do a fresh clone.

The plan is to use the UNIX version as the high-performance (err, low-power) longer term store, and AppEngine as the always-on "free" data collector from the cloud for things like Twitter, RSS and Facebook. AppEngine and most other cloud providers arent well geared up to archiving a lot of data (e.g. all your photos) and so the UNIX server can also run in the home.

I'm looking at ordering a few Plug Computers from http://www.plugcomputer.org, which are very low-power ARM-based things that can run for a long time in the house or the Lab; if you want one as well from Cambridge, give me a shout....
