India seeks to expand its trade with Indonesia, which surpassed the US
$10 billion mark last year, by introducing some top products into
Southeast Asia's largest economy. "We are here for the long term -
interacting with the business community and government officials to
strengthen bilateral trade" Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Biren Nanda
said at the opening of the "Made in India" trade exhibition, at Balai
Kartini Exhibition Center in Jakarta on Friday. The four-day
exhibition, running from Aug. 7-10, features more than 60 Indian
companies from the automobile, textile, software, energy and
handicraft industries, and will be complemented by a cultural and
culinary festival. A seminar on the Indian economy and ways to
increase economic engagement between Indonesia and India was also held
after the inauguration ceremony. Tata, TVS, Birla Group, Indian Oil,
BHEL group and Indorama Synthetics are among many renowned companies
participating in the exhibition aimed at exploring Indonesian consumer
