Now that you've made your reservation, you'll need to get the actual tickets before you travel. Skip the ticket lines at the station and mailing costs and take advantage of the ease and convenience of eTicketing. eTicketing is available on nearly all Amtrak train routes and Thruway connecting bus services throughout the nation.
For tickets sent by mail to most addresses within the continental US, you must purchase your tickets at least 9 days before your date of departure. For tickets sent by mail to addresses in Alaska, Hawaii and most addresses within Canada, you must purchase your tickets at least 15 days before travel.
You may request that your tickets be delivered by express delivery in certain circumstances for an additional fee. To be eligible for express delivery, you must make your reservations at least four days before travel for U.S. delivery and at least six days before travel for Canadian delivery. This option is available for continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and Canadian addresses only. Delivery to PO boxes is not available. Deliveries are made Monday through Friday only and someone must sign for the delivery.
In most circumstances, you must purchase a ticket before you board a train. Most trains require reservations and you should not board reserved trains without a reservation. Passengers who do so are not guaranteed a seat and may be instructed to get off the train at the next station stop.
In those limited circumstances when you are permitted to purchase your tickets onboard, you may pay with cash. Customers boarding at unstaffed stations who want to buy tickets with their credit card can do so on Amtrak.com or on their mobile phone prior to boarding.
On most Amtrak trains, only the full, undiscounted, unrestricted fare will be available for purchase onboard the train. This is regardless of reservations made or fares previously quoted by ticket agents, Amtrak.com or elsewhere. Higher fares usually apply when purchasing onboard the train.
You can only pick up your tickets from a conductor in limited circumstances. For example, when you pay for your tickets in advance of travel and your departure station is closed at the time of departure and no other delivery option exists.
Based on your itinerary, our online booking system will determine your eligibility for onboard pick-up. If you are eligible, you will be presented with the option to pick up your tickets onboard during the booking process. When making reservations by phone, your reservation agent will tell you whether you are eligible for this service.
Amtrak is waiving all change fees for any changes made by December 31, 2023 on fares that have change fees. A fare difference may apply for itinerary changes. Cancellation fees still apply to fares that have cancellation fees. Rules that apply to Reward Tickets redeemed using Amtrak Guest Reward points are not affected by this waiver. The removal of some restrictions on Multi-Ride tickets on the Northeast Corridor is extended through December 31, 2023.
For all reserved fares purchased from Amtrak via cash*, credit card or debit card, a full refund will be issued to the original form of payment if the ticket is canceled within 24 hours of the time of purchase and prior to the scheduled departure. Tickets for unreserved services must be cancelled within 1 hour of purchase. Tickets that remain unused and are not canceled prior to departure are forfeited.
The refund policy is that of the customer ticket with which the vehicle (automobiles, motorcycles) or add-on (golf bags, bikes, pets) fee ticket is associated. Example: For reservations with a Bedroom and automobile on Auto Train, the private room refund policy also applies to the automobile ticket.
If paper value tickets were printed, with the exception of eTickets, they must be returned for any refund. Paper value tickets purchased from a travel agency must be returned to that agency, except when there is a service disruption.

Everytime I Try to get a ticket with the Amtrak Website it is buggy, gives errors all kinds of errors all the time, etc. It takes hours to book a ticket sometimes. Usually I have to end up just buying it in person at the station as the website, the app, and the automated phone system never works. I always end up having to speak with someone.
Visit the fare finder on this page the Amtrak app. Then, select either a one-way or roundtrip ticket. Next, select your origin and destination (either DEN to WPR or WPR to DEN). Finally, select your desired travel date(s). Fares and options to book will be available on the next screen.
One-way tickets enable you to ride one-way from departure station to destination. Round-trip tickets allow you to ride from departure station to your destination and back. Tickets are valid on board any Capitol Corridor train/bus at any time between the stops noted on the ticket. There is a multi-city booking option as well if your plans include more than one destination.
