It is time to come together and have some honest conversations about building community resilience to what is shaping up to be the biggest shock any of us have ever experienced. Our permaculture group has all the skills to negotiate the challenges and through the process build community and more connected and meaningful lives.
I thought we could set the scene with the documentary "The Power of Community - How Cuba Survived Peak Oil" and then circle round for a conversation about how we can support our communities.
A Google Doc has been circulating recently titled "When the Trucks Stop: Mutual Aid Arrangements for a Fuel Constrained Aotearoa New Zealand" published by Wise Response Society. Have a look if you are interested and we can dig into it more after the film on Tuesday evening.
Arrive from 6.30pm for a movie start at 7pm and aim to be wrapping up by 9pm
We will have tea and coffee but if you think you need a "stiffer" drink feel free to bring it along.
I will leave you to organise car pools to Mangarara and look forward to seeing you soon!
Peace
Greg Hart
PS I will be extending an invitation to our Elsthorpe Community
