Good evening everyone,
Recently Berit circulated the attached flyer through the group about the Inaugural Waipawa Community Meal event. This is an effort to progress community building in our hyperlocal area.
The event is early on in the planning stage, but it sounds like there might be a little confusion over some of the details, so I'd just like to clarify a few points here so everyone is on the same page:

* the inaugural Waipawa community meal is in the early stages of planning, but a date has not yet been set,
* the attached flyer is asking for volunteers to come together to help plan and run the final event,
* the meeting on the 17th May @ 16:30 on Abbotsford Road is to bring together volunteers to help plan and organise the final event,
* it would be great if this planning meeting included people from outside of Waipawa to see how everything happens as an organiser and learn what works and what doesn't, so they can take the idea back into their own communities and use as a template to organise their own community event,
the actual community meal event is intended to bring together people living in and close to Waipawa (the whole 5km radius bit, or whoever associates Waipawa as their closest community), so that we can get to know people in our own neighbourhood better - although we would never turn anybody away at the door!
* please RSVP to Berit if you are interested to be involved as a volunteer organiser and attend on the 17th May so we can discuss and organise how the community meal will run.
* this RSVP is important, as we will need to change the venue of our volunteer meeting if we have more than 10 people interested to attend.
* we hope to provide tea and coffee, but are not planning to cater this volunteer meeting.

Please do pass these details onto people in your circle who might be interested and also revisit conversations with anyone where any of the above might have been in doubt.

So far we are getting much interest and a good response is building. :)
We look forward to seeing any willing volunteers on the 17th for our volunteer meeting (but remember, venue might change based on numbers).
Have a good evening,
Sherryn, Maureen and Berit.

Amendment: meeting time 17:00-18:30 as per the flyer, not 16:30, my mistake.

Fantastic to hear that you're keen to be involved Ross.
This inaugural meal is hoped to be the first of many! We'd be delighted to have your help. In lieu of making the meeting, please let us know if you have a preference to help in any specific areas. We will add you the list of volunteers and keep you updated.
(This goes for anyone interested in organising, but unable to attend, hence the reply all).
Thanks!
S, M & B.

Thank you for the clarification. I will definitely be at the meeting at Maureen's and hope to be involved with Berit's community meal volunteer drive.
