For your amusement, this is the sort of daft stuff I spend my time on:

Attached pictures of the new TTT (transisition town tenterden) smoothy bike.   I have made it so you can remove the bike (it's a fiddly spanner and screwdriver job, but it makes it more transportable) seems to work ok, I knocked up a nice nettle soup earlier.

It used

Bits of an old electric golf cart

parts from an old go-kart trolly, which was then a log saw holder for a few years.

some old nuts and bolts which have been in a jar for at least 30 years (they are UNF I think)

some bits from a previous bike I pulled to bits years back.

some left over wood from my office re-furb

Bits of an old filing cabinet

some metal straps which hold the timber to the brink work on a house build (left overs from our extension)

bits of plastic which have been in the shed for 30 odd years, but am running out of it now.

some self amalgamating tape which I "borrowed" from work almost 30 years ago

some new screws, bolts and washers.

miles of MIG welding wire

old bike ( think it's on the way out, there is a dodgy noise from the crank, but its fine for this)

old blender, with all the electric guts removed

Not had a chance to paint it, needs hammorite really

Mrs P is not impressed as I have spent ages on this and not done all her gardening tasks, actually she was quite impressed with the end result, and I even managed to get her on the thing for a quick wizz.

Knocked this up over the weekend for the local Transisition Town (Tenterden)

You may remember I made a smoothy bike earlier in the year, well it’s now had its first public outing (and a lick of paint)

Ooh, do you want to bring it to the Haymaking Festival?  We had a bike powered disco last year and smoothies would be wonderful!

Come to that, does anyone want to come to the Haymaking Festival at Hambrook Marhses with anything to show or do or talk about or play with?

We try to be as interactive as possible and invite all things green, fun or progressive.  We have heavy horses, CAMRA, local food/drink, we build a hay-rick using wooden rakes and cut hay with Austrian scythes.  We have face-painting, basket-making, trugs, teepees, green wood work, bushcraft.  Lots of local musicians come as long as they can play acoustically because it’s all off-grid.  We also have Indian head massage and ear acupuncture and more.

This is a chance to promote courses, businesses, projects and ideas, so please let me know if you or anyone you know would like to come along.
