Leigh,
Looking back I think that I was a little turned off but that's alright.

I felt a bit alienated being in a different climate and season. It was a little hard to connect, be on the same page and enthusiasm as yall in NZ. I did appreciate what you are all doing and I've been following along.
I may actually have caught up with where you guys are... but I'm not too sure.

I've done the base map but couldn't get any real help or advice on my sector analysis for a while so the project got a little backed up for me.
I have planned out my gardens a little and chicken coop  but i'm still working out the kinks of drainage, watering, exact plant placement etc. I have hundreds of seeds started in a indoor "duck-tape" greenhouse. Lots of sprouts. Lots more to be planted in the next few weeks as the snow starts to melt.

I've also started to build a business plan for a community composting service/processing center. There is a compost crisis here in Vermont. The largest composter Intervale Compost who provides 92% of the entire state composting may be shutting down due to lack of permitting, in the next couple months. I'm trying to be a part of the solution. Yesterday, I went to a composting summit put together by the Vermont Association of Composters and got a lot of useful information and networking. Also a great keynote speaker Malcolm Beck.

I also going to be doing some urban permaculture deign a my friends house. He needs to talk to the town though to see what permits are needs. For instance I know that we cant set up any alternative grey water systems legally because they measure water usage on the way out instead of the way in.

Too much permaculture going on here to share it all on the internet... just not enough time.

Anyways, thanks for the thought,

Busy living,
Benny

Subject: ::{permaculture}:: Quick update

Well, not really an update - but I grabbed a video of a lady here who knows her compost and worm farming like no one else here in Dunedin. Its a longer video and unedited, but there are gems of wisdom: http://blip.tv/file/793202

Sorry to be so slow in updating - the Easter holidays has put me out of wack.. Benny, you've gone silent since my response to your concerns about Second Life.. I hope I haven't turned you off? How are you all going?

Regards
Leigh

Hi Benny,

Thanks for dropping back in - I was concerned I had offended, but I'm pleased to see you're still here on the chance that we can help you in some way.

Now that Peta and Jason are present in this email forum, they might be able to send through helpful tips on the specific challenges you are facing - I know I would like to know how to approach those things too.

Regards
Leigh
