I thought it might be good to actually give you some more info about the programme ( see below) and also, please invite any people interested to write to membe...@gen-europe.org sharing about their background and motivation in regard to the ToT. And it would be ideal, if they could write to me before Friday next week (03 of november).
With love and in community,
Carolin
Regarding the program of the ToT itself, it's still very much being prepared, but the main objective of the ToT and the project is to provide national and transnational ecovillage networks with tools and methods. These tools and methods serve two purposes: The first one, helping new networks to be formed (launch) and the second one, collecting good practices and things to avoid, so that existing networks can flourish (thrive).
As to the ToT itself, we're aiming to show these tools and methods to people already involved in the networks, or willing to become involved so that they can spread and use them in their territories.
What follows is extracted from the application. I believe the real ToT will be very similar to what is described:
This 5 days long training is intended to provide participants with efficient networking skills (IO1 MANUAL) and tools (IO2 ICT PLATFORM and IO3 OLP) and to understand the potential of
regional cooperation and effectively Launch & Thrive nationale ecovillage networks. The training will both serve as a transfer of knowledge to the participants of the project's results, and to train
the participants as future trainers to accompany national ecovillage networks. The trained trainers will be involved in the use of the OLP as part of the project. Participants of the training will be persons who are fully engaged in educational activities of partner organisations or those who are responsible for the networking and membership. Some will give sessions on certain topics as the experts in the training and OLP, while in other sessions assume a learner position. The detailed schedule of the training will depend on the outcomes of the Intellectual Outputs of the project, but we will be dividing the training days in four sessions. Two morning sessions of 1,5 hour slots with a 30 minute tea break and two afternoon sessions with a 30 minute tea break. The last session of every day will be dedicated to group work where participants will plan their own networking projects to apply heir newly acquired knowledge and skills There will be moments for peer to peer learning and evenings will be dedicated to sharing of methods and skills in an open space manner. The training will be planned and delivered by experts from partner organisations and will cover following topics: Launch principles: • Setting up the national network (formalia, constitution, organisational models, governance, conflict, strategy etc.); • Legal and organisational structures, membership policy, involving new members to the network (benefits of the membership in the network); • Vision and mission: what do we communicate to the world; • Identifying initiators for the start-up of the national network, which could be eco-projects/institutions/ecovillages, gaining legitimacy and solid foundation; The art of networking; national and international cooperation; • Attend to evaluation, lessons learnt, ways forward; • Promoting integration and cooperation between network members; • Governance structures for national ecovillage networks; • Capacity building of key representatives, inclusion of volunteers; • Dissemination, how to reach the right persons. Use of ICT tools for efficient cooperation; mapping and database creation, how to create efficient web presence; • Mapping of national eco-projects, expanding the circles. Building the network in your respective country virtually by referring to the GEN Project Database. Making an inventory of all relevant projects in the respective country, finding out which projects are already enrolled and inviting further organisations to link up; • Communication and flow of information between the network members; Principles of OLP: • Developed content, learning activities, and assessments to accommodate the number of participants.
