Week 2 was a special week as we had a really fun group in house as well as Tony Harrington and True Color Film Company. Lisa Filzmoser has been a friend of mine for years and we have been talking about Alaska for just as long. It was incredible to see her and Aline Bock just SHREDDING the Chugach. The girls (along with Alvaro Vogel and Nichola Wolke) rallied some impressive lines and came back with ear-to-ear grins daily.

The Chugach had some really amazing weeks and some weeks that battled the wind. There were a few days where it was literally blowing sideways and the helicopters stayed grounded, for good reason. The interesting part was even with all the wind; the conditions still remained good after the winds subsided.

There were some exciting events that took place this season that will not be forgotten. Long time guide, Jason Mack got to heli ski with his 7-year-old son Declan. Declan has been visiting us since he was a baby and is an incredible skier. It was a pretty emotional day for Mom, Dad and everyone who got to experience the special run that Declan made.

Lutz Bertling, president and CEO of the Eurocopter Group, said the global civil and parapublic market, it delivered 750 helicopters, which equates to 44 percent of the global market share; for the military market, it delivered 698 helicopters, which translated into a global market share of 18 percent.

The company saw 469 net bookings in 2012, including 249 EC130s and 19 EC175s. The first flight of the no. 1 production EC175 took place in 2012. (Just a week after the show, Bertling resigned his post as CEO of Eurocopter to become president and chief operating office at Berlin-based Bombardier Transportation. Guillaume Faury was selected to succeed him.)

The 15th Turbine-Powered Civil Helicopter Purchase Outlook report, released on the eve of Heli-Expo in Las Vegas in March, shows improved purchase plans for new helicopters in every region of the world.

Higher purchase plans were found across the board in all regions this year. Purchase plans in major U.S. and European centers of demand rose this year by 3 and 7 points, respectively. All other regions also improved moderately compared with 2012, and their purchase plans remain above the world average rate, Honeywell said.

Relatively lower levels of planned purchases were concentrated in 2016, leading to the expectation that these plans could strengthen over the next few years should political and general economic conditions improve as projected. -Emily Feliz

The WX-500 Stormscope detects and maps thunderstorms by analyzing the radiated signals of electrical discharges from storm cells. By detecting the electrical activity, Stormscope provides an accurate view of areas that are the most dangerous portions of a thunderstorm.

Flight conditions encompassed rigorous maneuvers, including severe banking and operation through several rotor orientations while running data-intensive applications. During multiple tests, operators were able to simultaneously run five VoIP calls, three VTCs from air to ground, and streaming videos from the Internet to the aircraft. All applications ran without packet loss or video dropout, ViaSat said.

Additionally, Honeywell said it has integrated its Zing Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) into the Sky Connect Tracker III to allow real-time vehicle health status and maintenance alerts. This integration enables ground maintenance and operations personnel to instantaneously see when a HUMS maintenance alert is flagged, so maintenance personnel can schedule maintenance when the aircraft lands, according to the company.

The new flight deck, supplied by Universal Avionics Systems, of Tucson, Ariz., will include a custom single-pilot IFR-capable integrated flight deck available for all production and retrofit MD Explorer helicopters. The new cockpit will feature a Primary Flight Display (PFD) providing all Primary Flight parameters, Primary Engine/Rotor data and safety critical annunciators. Full capabilities will include synthetic vision, electronic charts and display graphics that are video and mission display capable.

The system will be available in several cockpit configurations supporting both single and dual pilot operations. Night vision goggle-compatible cockpit displays and controllers are planned immediately after certification of the basic display system project, MD Helicopters said.

The Radio Control Unit (RCU) has successfully been installed in 28 fixed wing aircraft platforms. Now, the unit is approved for helicopter-specific vibration profiles, signifying a new installation platform for the product, according to the company.

The contract is part of a modernization program involving 36 AS550s and AS350s in operation with the Brazilian Army Aviation Command. Also included in the installation is a glass cockpit system with three displays, an automatic flight control system, new COM/NAV equipment, crew seating and weapons capabilities.

Bell Helicopter introduced upgrades to its Bell 412 platform. The Bell 412EPI will include an integrated glass cockpit system and 15 percent more horsepower with the Pratt & Whitney PT6T-9 Twin Pac engines.

The Bell BasiX Pro avionics system features four 10.4-inch high-resolution LCD primary/multi-function displays. The avionics suite also includes digital maps, electronic charts and approach plates, ADS-B transponder and optional HTAWS and XM satellite link.

The chiral helimagnet Cr1/3NbS2 has been investigated by magnetic, transport, and thermal properties measurements on single crystals and by first-principles electronic structure calculations. From the measured field and temperature dependence of the magnetization for fields applied perpendicular to the c axis, the magnetic phase diagram has been constructed in the vicinity of the phase transition. A transition from a paramagnetic to a magnetically ordered phase occurs near 120 K. The transition is found to strongly affect the electrical transport. The resistivity decreases sharply upon cooling near 120 K, and the spin reorientation from the helimagnetic ground state to the commensurate ferromagnetic state is evident in the magnetoresistance. At high fields, a large magnetoresistance (55% at 140 kOe) is observed near the magnetic transition temperature. Heat capacity and electronic structure calculations show that the density of states at the Fermi level is low in the magnetically ordered state.

I have a 2006 TTR 125 and have stripped the spark plug. It takes a NGK CR7HSA and the local part stores say it is takes a 10 x 1.0m thread kit. No one seems to have one of these locally and this one seems like an expensive one online. Most kits come with with an insert with threads and some teeth on the top like the sav-a-thread ones. The helicoil kit seem to come with a spring looking insert with a tip at the end / bottom. I heard you should not use the insert that look like springs. Can not seem to find a 10x.1m insert kit without the helicoil springs. anyones know where i can get these type inserts.

when I stripped one of my head bolts i took it to a engineering place. They like drilled it out and then put a sleve in it and tapped the thread. I dont know if you can do that for a spark plug thread.

The biggest problem heli-coling the head is the consistant pressure pounding and the thermal expansion. The heli-coil will expand a different rate and cause the coil to become weak. Then next time u remove your spark plug it can fall apart in the head with-out you knowing and then game over when you run the engine.

Buy a new head, or have it sleeved, or anything that is a solid piece. Me personally (having a machine shop) would look for replacement head and if not found one for under 100 bucks would machine a sleeve into and that should do.

Heli Coil and Time Sert both make plug repair kits, the repairs are stronger than the original threads, used Heli Coils lots, the only problem with the Heli Coil is the tab that has to broken off after it is installed.

everything is great, I call in the support the heli "floats" in air as I get in back...chose were I want to go, It takes me there...I get out and....Im fucking stuck. Always looks like my head it getting cut off by the blades. Anyone else have this problem or a fix? This happens no matter what I do. long travel distance, long travel distance. heli pad or not...doesn't matter always get stuck getting out.

sry, Any Mh-9...idk by number...the real heli is called the little bird. I have that hooked up to the transport module with the support module, the way its supposed to work. Doesnt matter what mission I make. I have 2 scripts running (even though they should have nothing to do with the heli) I have virtual box and something else to choose team mates.....whenever I get into the heli, it flies to where i want to go and once I "get out" I get stuck in a place where it looks like my head is getting cut off by the blades. I use elite difficulty so I cant go 3rd person.

umm....there is no official release of any arma3 missions. this it no matter what, I get stuck. theres nothing to upload....clearly no one else is having this problem....it doesnt matter what mission i make or anything a always get stuck getting out of the transport heli
