Do you want to use your skills on scientific IT applications in
Biotechnology? In the Bio-IT department at the Novozymes headquarters in
Bagsværd, Copenhagen, we maintain and develop a large in-house computing
setup with the central IT systems for the scientific data of the global R&D
organization.
More than 1000 users within microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics
and biochemistry at the R&D sites on 4 continents use our in-house
developed systems which we develop in close collaboration with the
scientists for their daily data registration as well as for advanced genome
analysis and proteomics.
Linux and Open Source software have been key for IT in Research &
Development at Novozymes for more than a decade. Perl is the dominant
compound.
For our IT team we seek a new colleague, who takes pride in building and
maintaining complex applications crucial to the technical development in a
research-based company.
Required skills:
You have a very solid background in software development. You are a fast
learner and eager to extend your competences. You take responsibility not
only for your own work, but for the product you develop in a team effort.
You want to go in depth and create value for the company by enabling new
possibilities within our platform of central systems.
Desired skills:
Your technical interest is triggered by:
* Object oriented Perl development and DBIx::Class (ORM)
* Perl based web development using Catalyst, Javascript, Mason
* Source control using subversion/git
* PostgreSQL installations of more than 100 GB.
The ideal candidate has a master´s degree within computer science or
similar working experience.
We are a team of 10 who use our knowledge of data management systems to
enable biotechnology innovation. The team covers all professional
IT-skills; business analysis, solution design, development, testing and
debugging, project management, system administration, backup, monitoring,
capacity planning and user support.
