I need to install SNMP_Session.pm in Fedora core 12, can any one guide me
how i can install this package and from where i get this. It is working in
my ubuntu machine but in fedora i am unable to find.
Regards,
Raheel.
(Warning: I have zero experience in Fedora/Red Hat, so this is all guessing)
While it is always recommended to install modules through the distro,
if you don't have that ability, there's always CPAN.
You need to open a console/terminal window (no clue what's it called
in Fedora), then try entering "cpan". If this doesn't work, you then
need to install it, I'm guessing "yum install perl-CPAN" or an
equivalent (if you have a GUI for installing packages, look for
cpan). You can then type "cpan SNMP::Session" into your terminal and
it will run the installation through.

All Ubuntu packages have meta-data that tells you more-or-less what
exactly is used there.
So I'm guessing you mean this one:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/libsnmp-session-perl
Which points here:
http://www.switch.ch/misc/leinen/snmp/perl/
Which, in turn, points here:
http://code.google.com/p/snmp-session/
Which is where you can find the actual code for the package you seek.
I did a CPAN search and got to:
http://search.cpan.org/perldoc?Module::ThirdParty
There I found that the up-to-date URL is:
http://code.google.com/p/snmp-session/
It seems to have a Makefile.PL so you can use it to install it under a prefix.
See:
http://search.cpan.org/perldoc?local::lib
