I would download the free OS Knoppix and burn it on a cdr. If you
can't do that I would order five by mail at about $5 each. Then
every time someone wants to use the pc insert the cdr and boot.
The boot time is about 2.5 minutes but once booted you can leave
it up 24/7. Most of the programs you need are present in clone
form. For example Open Office does what Microsoft office will do,
and the menus are similar. You can get on the net, read and write
to the hard disk etc. but the virus can't touch you, and the
Information Systems Department need not be consulted.
