Reini,

Shadowcat has kindly offered to host the http://perl-compiler.org website. I know you've been struggling with a proper place to put docs, statistics, etc. so they can be accessed publicly. This should help with that. We've gotten an agreement with the Perl NOC that if we leave this up and running and show use and activity, they will point compiler.perl.org to it.

I have an account and can put files up for you or let me know and I'll get you an account setup so you can do it yourself if you prefer.

Thanks,
Todd Rinaldo

Great!

Can you update the docs and module status reports (from SVN)?

I also have tons of status reports not in SVN, which would make a
great progress database, but that's too much nonsense-work.
I'm currently very busy technically to fix the final bugs in the few
hours a day I have for it.

Only 2-3 modules failing this week, but the more bugs I fix
the more come in from new code paths which were previously
ignored/inactive.

$ grep "# fail" log.modules-5.0*|egrep -v "(bak|err)"
log.modules-5.006002d-nt:# fail 3 / 80 (3.8%)
log.modules-5.008009:# fail 4 / 99 (4.0%)
log.modules-5.008009-nt:# fail 3 / 100 (3.0%)
log.modules-5.008009d-nt:# fail 2 / 98 (2.0%)
log.modules-5.010000-nt:# fail 3 / 96 (3.1%)
log.modules-5.010001:# fail 4 / 100 (4.0%)
log.modules-5.010001-nt:# fail 3 / 100 (3.0%)
log.modules-5.010001d-nt:# fail 2 / 100 (2.0%)
log.modules-5.012000:# fail 2 / 87 (2.3%)
log.modules-5.012001-nt:# fail 10 / 100 (10.0%)
log.modules-5.013005:# fail 6 / 84 (7.1%)
log.modules-5.013005-nt:# fail 3 / 83 (3.6%)
log.modules-5.013005d:# fail 12 / 91 (13.2%)
log.modules-5.013005d-nt:# fail 13 / 100 (13.0%)

The new release should happen in the next two weeks I hope.

Around December we should be "almost" bugfree and I'll go over
to Jit, to see how much faster that will be.
Currently I can only jit very simple arithmetic but nothing outside
op->next chains (if, eval, die, ...).
