The POD says:

=head1 NAME

CHI -- Unified cache interface

Shouldn't that be abbreviated: "UCI" ...?

If, otoh, it's a reference to the Chinese spiritual energy flow, I
think that's typically capitalized, but not written in all-caps... :-)

Hi David -

It doesn't stand for anything. It's just a name that comes from the
middle of the word "caching".

Though if anyone wants it to stand for something, they could use
Cache Handling Interface.

Tim.

Hey, good point! Perhaps I'll change the pod to address future
questions. :)

Hi Jon,

Thanks, the question consumed an inordinate amount or my googling time
yesterday -- I think computers have given me a serious OCD regarding
TLA's -- an inexplicable need to know, guess, contrive, or otherwise
find out for sure, what they stand for.

It came as something of a relief to hear that it doesn't stand for
anything, neatly explaining why I couldn't figure it out (though
bringing me no closer to explaining why I need to know (...I guess
that's a matter for me and my therapist :-)))

Thanks,

-dave,

..who, in another only slightly unrelated of his OCD's, now feels a
compulsion to upload a new CANG module to CPAN, just to put to good
use the *other* left-over letters in CAchiNG.

Tim, can you contrive as good a FLA for CANG?

Wow! Sorry to have inadvertantly caused that distress. :)

I had always assumed it deliberately stood for Cache Handle Interface,
and am shocked, shocked to learn that it wasn't meant to stand for
anything...
