1. If I found out that Pearce had called in sick, but wasn't accutally
sick, I would give him a warning to only use his sick days when
needed. If he continued to do it, I would let him know that he may
lose his job unless he stops.

2. If I was Pearce's coworker and knew of his decision, I would not
approve of it. I would think the Pearce is lazy, and isn't taking his
job seriously.

3. The decision Pearce made may affect the buisness where he works
because of him not being there, the other workers would have to cover
for him, and it would draw attention from their own jobs. Also,
services, such as getting the people their popcorn, drinks, and
tickets may slow down since there is one less person there to do these
things.

1. If I were Pearce's employer, and I found out that he had called in
sick but he wasn't really sick, I would most likely have lower
expectations of him, and I would make sure if he ever skipped out on
work again, I would fire him, because I would know he can't be trusted
with the resposibility of coming to work everyday, and doesn't deserve
to work at my business if he's going to slack off. I'd briefly speak
to him about taking off work to hang out with friends and to make sure
it doesn't happen again. Especially if that was his first day!

2. If I were Pearce's coworker, I'd be angry that as oppose to coming
into work like the rest of the employees, he doesn't show up and takes
sick days, and I would think that he gets an unfair advantage over
allt he other workers. I would from then on look at him as the person
who skips out of work and who slacks off and doesn't care whether or
not he gets paid or is at work when he's supoosed to be,

3. Pearce's action will affect the business where he works, because
during that time, the movie theater will be short staffed, and some of
Pearce's coworkers will have to cover his job as well as their own, so
that they don't lose time. It will make the other workers have to work
harder so that they don't have people waiting, or Pearce's job being
left completely unworked, so that it holds up some of their business.
If they don't have enough people, they won't get as many customers,
which will overall change the amount of income they get at the end of
the day if they don't have enough people to cover each of the jobs
properly. Every other worker will lose both time and money.

1. If Pearce called in a fake sick day on the first day of his job and I was his employer I would have fired him on the spot because he is already taking a break on the first day and I would see it as a pattern that could very likely continue.

2. Now if I were Pearce's coworker I would think Pearce is a immature slacker who really needs to pick up his responsibilities.

3. If there was no cover for him at work it makes his place of work suffer from lack of workers on duty and less customer satisfaction.

1. If I were Pearce's employer, I would give him a warning, but be
very strick with him so he does not call in sick on days when he is
really not. If a certain pattern started where he would call in sick
on the same day each week I would definatly fire him. I would let him
get away with it for the first couple of weeks but then I would call
him into my office and fire him. Taking sick days when you are not
sick is a waste of having them and make you and the company look bad.

2. If I were Pearce's coworker and heard about his decision I would
probably tell my boss and make sure that he knows about it so he
doesnt look bad. Then, if he does it again I would definatly make sure
that he gets fired and doesnt do that again.

3. Pearce's action might affect the business because it would slow
everyone else down. The other workers will have to cover for him and
do his job plus there own jobs, so that will make it harder for them.
The movie might lose business because too many people arent getting
good service or all of the people will leave and the company will lose
money. This is not something anyone should do on there first day of
work.

1. If I were Pearce's employer, I would probably fire him right away.
Calling in sick on the first day would show that this employee is not
trustworthy and will not take the job as seriously as he should. Also,
I would not tolerate an employee who lies or is lazy.

2. If I were Pearce's coworker, I'd think that his decision was
careless and selfish since he is already taking days off before he
even started working. I would think he is unreliable and is a slacker
who won't be able to handle a job.

3. Pearce's action may affect the business where he works because
having one less person working can actually cause lots of unnecessary
chaos. Pearce's coworkers will have to do what they can to cover for
him while trying to keep up with their job as well, while his boss
might be desperately calling other employees to take Pearce's place.
Business will also be slowed down in the movie theater especially if
it's crowded, and some business may be lost if people start to leave.

1. If I was the boss of Pierce, and I learned that he called in sick
even though he was not, I might give him an extra job to do. By not
showing up to work on the first day, it does not leave a good
impression with his boss, and that may lead to him getting fired.

2. If I was working along with Pierce and learned he made this
decision, I would feel he is lazy and does not deserve the job. I
would also worry that this may happen in the future with him.

3. Pierce's decision to call in sick would have a negative impact on
the business. His coworkers will have to do his job, and that may
affect the quality and efficiency of what each person has to do.

1. If I where Pearce’s employer and I found out that he was not sick
when he called in sick I would fire him because he did the worst thing
on the first day on the job. Then if he would ask for one more try I
would not give it to him because then I know what kind of worker he
is.

2. If I was Pearce’s coworker I would tell him to not call in sick if
he is not sick but only when he really sick is when he should do it,
and I would tell him to watch out because the boss does not like when
people fake sick on the first day at a job.

3. Someone else might have to do his job like mop up the floor, or
there will only be one cashier which will create a long line which
then will happen late time on movies. There will be chaos in parts
which don’t need to be.

1) If I was Pearce's employer, when I heard this news, I would fire
him on the spot because I would know that he is not a responsible
employee.

2) If I was Pearce's co-worker, I would think his descion was
rediculous, talk to the boss, and see if I no longer have to work with
him and see if I can have different hours then him.

3) Because of his action, the theater would be short staffed. If the
theater was short staffed, it would get crowded and people would not
want to go in because it is so cramped. If the theater was short
staffed, pople may also try to sneak in because no one would be doing
Pearce's job, so sneaking in would become much easier and more
plausible. Without Pearce, the theater would run a muck.

1. If I were Pearce’s employer, I would have fired him if I found out
that he had called in sick but was not really sick. It is not the
right thing to do, especially on the first day on the job. To have a
job, you must have commitment to that job, and be willing to sacrifice
your own time to work. Pearce did not do this, and that is why I would
have fired him.

2. If I were Pearce’s coworker, I would think very low of Pearce’s
decision, and believe that he is very, lazy and is not committed to
the job. I would also think that he does not deserve a job if he is
going to call in sick on the first (or any) day even though he is not
really sick. That is what I would think if I was Pearce’s coworker.

3. The decision that Pearce made could greatly affect the business
where he works because they may be short on workers. Because Pearce
called in sick, the movie theater may be short on employees that day,
and it may affect the service and the efficiency of the workers. The
theater may not make as much profit as it usually does, and the
employees may be rushing around. That is how Pearce’s decision may
affect the business where he works.

1. If I was Pearce's employer and I had found out that he had called
in sick but wasn't sick, on his first day, I would be very
dissapointed in him. First I would give him a stern warning not to do
it again. I most likely would not fire him the second time but
definatly the third time I would. Especially if I was paying him on
his "sick day", then I would be even more mad. and its unfair that
someone else would have to give up their free time to cover his shift
he was to lazy to.

2. There are 2 ways of looking at this and both are negative. If I was
working with Pearce that day and he didnt come in i would be mad he
left me alone to do all the work. I would also be mad if i was his co-
worker who had to fill in for him. This is because I would have had to
give up my free time off of work to cover him. In addition the fact
that he called out sick when he was not would make me think less of
him.

3. Pearce's action could affect his work place because if the person
he was supposed to work with was left alone then they would have to do
everything. This could be a problem because if this person was alone
and something went wrong that was a 2 person job and a critic came in
then this place would look bad. Plus it could cause unsatisfied
customers and then they might not come back which is buisness you are
losing.

1) If i was Pearce's employer and i found out Pearce wasn't sick when
he called in sick, i would feel upset and i would fire him right away.
If i didn't fire him right away i would have some sort of punishment,
like don't work him for a week so he makes no money then put him on
for an extraordinary amount of hours.

2) If I was Pearce's coworker I would feel Pearce was lazy. I would
also feel like I was going to do all the work while he just sits there
and does nothing. I would also feel like he shouldn't get any money
that everyone else had to earn.

3) Pearce's actions could affect the business by having other people
cover his shift and in return they get stressed out about it and they
lose another new and energetic mind in their day of work. So now when
people try to talk to the people behind the counter they might feel
like the theater doesn't have friendly people. this can also scare
people and make other people not want to work there.

1. If i were Pearce's employer, and i found out that he called in
sick, when he actually wasn't, i would give him a warning since he is
a new employee, and if he did it again i would fire him.

2. If i was his co- worker, i wouldn't like what he did, because those
days are given to you for when you are actually sick, and it is wrong
because if he has no more sick days when he is actually sick, then he
would have to go into work.

3. It would affect where he works because there would be less people
working, and doing more then one job at a time, which could easily get
out of hand if the theater is busy, and then they would probably lose
money.

1. If I were Pearce's employer, and I found he was not sick, even
though he called in sick I would give him a very strict warning
telling him to never waste his sick days and only use when he needs
them the most. I would also tell him that I do not tolerate my
employees to slack off work at all. If a person was ever to take a
persoanl day off and call it a "sick day," I would possibly let it
slide, but never on the first day on the job. Also, I would have lower
expectations of him for the rest of the time he worked for me.
Additionallly, if he were to ever skip work again to hang out on his
friends I would fire him right away.

2. If I were Pearce's coworker, I would feel that his decision was
very irresponsible. I would not feel that trustworthy of him to always
finish his shift or duty. Also, I would feel that it is unfair how he
can lie and take a sick day while the rest of the employees are
working hard by covering for him. Especially on the first day of work.

3. Pearce's decision he made might affect the buisiess where he works
because now they are one man short. Now, his coworkers have to cover
for him and slow down business, and if that happens alot of people
would be mad. Coworkers will be mad because at the end of the day they
don't make as much as they usuallly do because business was slow and
they didn't get as much money as usuall. Also, customers may complain
about the service, or they won't just come anymore. If that were to
happen, the business would loose money.

1. If I were Pearce's employer, I would either fire him, give him a
warning, or cut his pay until he started doing the job the way he was
supposed to (i.e. - only taking sick days when needed.)

2. If I were Pearce's coworker, I would be disappointed in him for
missing his first day. It would give me a wrong impression as to who
he is; I might just think he's a slacker when he's something more.
First impressions are everything...

3. His actions might make the work place tense for everybody,
including himself. The boss wouldn't respect him as much and neither
would his coworkers. No one likes a slacker.

If I were Pearce's employer and I found out he called in sick and he
wasn't really sick then the day he comes back I would give him a
warning because I believe that everyone should deserve a second chance
at something even though his decision was really stupid. But it
doesn't mean I would let it slip by, I will make sure that he always
comes into work when is supposed to and I will make sure that he
doesn't slack off. I will be on his back for work. He will have to
prove to me that he is not a slacker and that he is deticated to his
job and will be loyal to his job.

If Pearce was my coworker and I found out that he called in sick even
though he wasn't sick at all I would try to stay away from him as much
as possible, because if I were working, I wouldn't want to be
distracted by anything and I would want to just focus on my work.
Because I know that he will get me distracted and that might cost me
my job for slacking off because of him. We would be only work mates,
not even friends. I will only say hi to him every once in awhile.

Pearce's action could affect the buisness because it might be a really
busy day and there aren't too many workers there that day and they
need him to help out. Then the customers would start complaining and
that could affect the manager and the workers. It could affect the
manager because they have to take all the complaints and could do
nothing about it. And the workers could be affected too because they
may not get that much tips and at some buisnesses you make half of
your money off from your tips and a lot of people need money to pay
off bills and everything like that. So Pearce's stupid deision could
affect everyone where he works.

1.  If I was Pearce's employer and I found out that Pearce had called in sick but wasn't really sick, I wouldn't be so happy.  Yes it is true that everyone his sick days but there are limits.  I would lay down the law on him.  If he continues to keep this up then I'll assume he isn't a trustworthy person therefore cannot be trusted with the responsibility of a job.  I would have to fire him.

2.  If I were Pearce's coworker, I would not be fond of the decision he has made to call in a fake sick day.  It would actually cause me to loose trust in him around the job and would probably cause me to tell the boss of the bad things he does.  It would also make me think he only wants the job for no work but all money.  He is lazy and it would irk me in a bad way.

3.  Pearce's action would affect where he works as since it, bottom line, would cause trouble.  First of all, one less person on the job will have to make others cover for him and if nobody can, than whoever is on shift will have to work two jobs.  If Pearce isn't sick then that would be totally unfair to whoever is covering or doing multiple jobs.  I've done it at my job... not fun at all. It is STRESSFUL.  It will cause people around the workplace to also hate Pearce and his ways.  The business will not trust him and may even have to become more superficial on how they hire people in the future.  It could altar the business completely...

1. If I were Pearce's employer I would fire him immediately. After
the stupid decision he made the first time I would realize that he is
not responsible and should not be trusted for the job anymore. Now
that the employer knows that he lied once he may never know again if
he is lying or telling the truth. Honesty is very important in a job
and since Pearce was not honest, he should no longer be trusted and
should be fired.

2. I would think that Pearce made a very stupid decision. I would
tell him that he put his job in geopardy and may now get fired. I
would tell him how it was stupid how he wasnt honest with hiss
employer. I would also tell him it was stupid because he was losing
money and he could put that money towards something he wanted.
Mainly, I would tell him he made a stupid decision and needs to learn
to make better decisions and be more responsible.

3. The decision Pearce made may affect the buisness where he works
because him not being there would mean that the other workers would
have to cover for him and they would not be able to pay attention to
their jobs. The services might be slower since there is one less
person helping. More people will be waiting in line and there would
not be enough people to help all of them, which will definitely slow
down their business. Also, one less person means less customer
satisfaction.
