Research Centre for Sustainable Process Technology (CESPRO) under the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment National University of Malaysia will be organizing "2-Days Workshop on Membranes: Technology and Applications” with the objective of generating new ideas and new approaches in regard to apply of membranes technology in different industry.The details of the workshop are as follows:

Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Wahab Mohammad
Prof. Wahab has been involved in membrane technology for the past 20 years. He has collaborated with companies such as IWK and Sime Darby in applying membrane for wastewater treatment. He has published more than 150 journal papers on membranes and is currently Co-Editor of Journal of Water Process Engineering (Elsevier). He is a registered Professional Engineer and Chartered Engineer. He will share his wealth of experience with the participants.
Dr. Teow Yeit Haan
Dr. Teow is currently a senior lecturer at UKM. She has been involved in membrane technology for more than 5 years. Her research activities is principally dedicated in the fields of membrane technology in membrane synthesis and characterization, membrane application for water purification, and membrane fouling. She has authored several publications and has collaborated with companies such as IWK and Sime Darby in applying membrane for wastewater treatment.

The workshop includes theory and basic principles of membrane technology, applications of membranes, and practices for fouling in membrane system. The potential application of membrane technology in different industry - environmental application (groundwater, surface water, wastewater), desalination, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology application, non-water application, food industry application, and metal and acid recovery - will be discussed
in depth.
