hi,
is there a possibility that perian will support rmvb in the future?
there are so many rmvb files out there these days, hope that this
format can get supported using QT-X in SL too.

Rmvb is supported in FFmpeg..... although i dont know if Perian will
ever get it updated.

Just because ffmpeg supports a codec doesn't mean that it's supported in such a way that we can plug it into the somewhat constrained framework QuickTime gives us. We've already got some hacks (and had to almost reverse-engineer things in other places) to make some of the codecs work as it is. Hopefuly QuickTime X's SDK will make this situation better, but at present there's no support for 3rd party codecs in QTX.
