Hi, it took me an entire frustrating week to discover that it was actually a bug, I've read a plenty of articles, topics, called internet support hub provider multiple times till i discovered the bug by accident.

hotspot on windows 10

The problem is that when I start a mobile hotspot from win11 on my laptop, it almost instantly crashes the internet on my laptop while my connected mobile's internet to the mobile wifi seems to be working absolutely fine, I thought it was a problem with my network DNS or something similar but it was not. I was testing several solutions, and accidently disabled the virtually created network to host the hotspot wifi and suddenly the edge browser started refreshing the page that I couldn't open 1 sec ago, disabling the hotspot network seemed like instantly solving the internet problem on my laptop, I did several tests later and all gave the same results, hosting a hotspot wifi on win11 causes the internet to crash in the host's system.

P.S. the internet didn't totally crash when I would host a host spot wifi, it would only allow me to open certain websites like facebook, instagram, utube, but any other random sites found through the search bar would never open or they would rather remain stuck in loading mode forever.

However, when I connect these two via latest Windows 11 pro Mobile Hotspot I'm getting mediocre speeds, like 200-400 mbps, very rarely it goes up to the 1200 Mbit, but it's not stable. The speed varies non stop and creates stutters when playing PCVR games on my Quest 3 in regular intervals.

I've spent A LOT of time on this, searched internet, found so many of us with the same exact problem.
I have fast PC with WiFi card which should yield better and stable speed and Quest 3 device which can utilize fast speed.

1. What I cant get max speeds, as advertised on both devices, with this setup?
2. Why is speed oscillating non stop, why is not stable?
3. Why does this connection stutter in regular intervals?
4. Is it even possible to get advertised speeds between my PC and Quest 3 with this card by using Windows 11 mobile hotspot feature?

For this scenario, it is important to mention, that the process when you install a wireless card separately is what we call a "Wireless Integration", and the thing about that process is that there are a lot of components that come into play, like for example: board, wireless card, drivers, PCI adapters, antennas m.2 ports, all those parts need to be compatible for the proper functionality of the Wireless connection. There is also regulatory information about the "Wireless Integration" that you can verify in the following links:

We would like to let you know that the Intel wireless drivers are generic, meaning they do not contain the customizations done by the OEM. Still, there is a new driver version for the Intel AX210 card, which is 23.10.0.8. Please try a clean installation of that driver following the instructions in the links below:

We also recommend to get in contact directly with ASUS Support to make sure the latest BIOS version is currently installed in your machine or, if necessary, to gather the instructions on how to update it:

Please submit your inquiry on a new thread, the reason for this is that every scenario is different even if the same product is being used, so for us to better assist you and in order to try to fix the problem, please submit a new thread:

I give up on this because i don't have the time and nerves to play this endless game of cat and mouse.
What I am 100% sure is that I installed all by the book, tried all kind of safe or regular installs.
I have fast Workstation PC and in ideal environment, which are supposed to allow close to max advertised speeds.

- Microsoft Hotspot feature is just a gimmick, because its not reliable. Its using variable speed and it stutters non stop.
Its OK to hook phone to the PC or PC to the router, but only for basic non demanding tasks which requires max and stable speed.
Will they ever fix that? Nobody knows, I'm not the first one who asked that and got left hanging without clear answer.
They either don't care or got other reasons to make it stable. Maybe to boost sales of standalone wiFi routers?
Everything is possible in corporate world.

- Intel WiFi adapters are prone to WiFi regulations and doesn't offer full speed in some countries due to all kind of regulations.
Even on high end mobos with integrated WiFi intel cards its the same issue.

From my point of view , as customer I feel that I am being cheated because on the product box it's not clearly stated that this product may not work as advertised in my country because of the regulations.

For this scenario, we would like to let you know that for Intel all the feedback and comments provided by all of our clients are very important. For that reason, I will send your remarks and observations related to this case to the proper department, for them to be aware about this situation in order to keep improving the customer's experience in future releases while using Intel products.

how to block mobile hotspot windows 10 in the Sophos firewall its more than 3 months I'm asking how to block windows 10 mobile hotspot but no answer from Sophos technical team my case still in Sophos investigation it's not acceptably for me .....

1. Although your computer is connected trough LAN connection, in Settings Network & internet, switch Wifi to ON and connect your computer to 5GHz WiFi band (so now, your computer is connected to Internet trough Ethernet and Wifi 5Ghz).

Sorry, but I don't have other ideas. Could be that there is some specific problem with AX200 on Windows 11. For me Mobile Hotspot 5GHZ and 2.4 GHZ working on Windows 11. I've checked on three NUC computers running on Windows 11. Two computers with AC 8265 adapter and the third with AX 201. See the attached image.

Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

Based on the SSU report, we can confirm that the wireless driver currently installed on your computer is version 22.80.1.1, which is a driver provided by Intel. "Actually I don't know my issue is directly connected to intel driver or windows 11", yes, it could be very well related to Windows* 11 itself, especially based on the fact that you are currently using the latest Intel wireless driver version for Windows* 11.

Just to let you know, the Intel wireless drivers are generic, meaning they might or might not work with your system. For that reason, we always recommend to install the wireless driver provided by the manufacturer of the computer, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform.

I looked on MSI's website, and even though they have some drivers available for Windows* 11, there is no wireless driver available for that operating system, which indicates it might not be validated yet as fully compatible with the board, at least in reference to Wireless drivers.

Even though you mention "Unfortunately I cannot test case with mobile hotspot on windows 10." Still, they do have a wireless driver available for Windows* 10, version 22.70.1.1, for testing purposes you can always try a clean installation of that driver following the instructions in the links below, even if you are using Windows* 11:

and about the driver V. . 22.80.1.1 its new driver that came yesterday And according to what is written in the changes, this should not affect my card at all because my card is an ax210 and not an ax211

"I decided to change one by one properties in advance tab and after changes some of properites hotspot 5GHz started working. After restart PC driver properties was the same but hotspot 5GHz doesn't work. If I continued to change random driver properties after some time I could run hotspot 5GHz."

If you do not remember the random driver properties that you changed, that is no problem, please let us know so we can do further research on this matter, keeping in mind that the root of the issue could be related to incompatibility between the Operating System and the platform being used.

Just in case, you can also use the option to submit your inquiry on a new thread, the reason for this is that every scenario is different even if the same product is being used, so for us to better assist you and in order to try to fix the problem, you can submit a new thread:

Just in case, you can always get in contact directly with the manufacturer of your Router in order to be able to configure it manually and set the 149, 153, 157, 161, 165 channels with a frequency of 5 GHz, or at least one of them and then try to use the 5GHz mobile hotspot.

"So I'm wondering why russian restrictions are applied in Ukraine?", In most cases, that is something you will need to check directly with the manufacturer of the laptop. Still, we will do further research on this question and the other ones you just posted. As soon as I get any updates I will provide all the details on this thread.

I just received an update on this matter. Just to let you know, actually, in different countries/regions the band 5GHz is not supported yet, and when is implemented, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) release BIOS updates/drivers to enable the support. You mentioned that maybe Russian restrictions are applied to your country, and yes, that is a possibility since 5GHz hotspot is still not supported in Russia.
