Myswitch is currently working with a basic VLAN 1 or default setup - as if the switches involved are 'dumb'. I want to add a few VLANs on a LAGG between my GS1920-24v2 and my router, which runs pfsense.
Unfortunately I cannot find any tutorials that explain setting up this switch that aren't either years out of date or relate to different Zyxel products using a different GUI or to switches from other manufacturers. The GS1920-24v2 manual refers to specific sections in detail, but does a poor job of explaining how different sections work together and in what order to make changes to the configuration.
I especially don't understand how to retain what is currently working and add to it without messing it all up! I have had to factory reset everything multiple times and wasted countless hours - hence this plea for help!
Existing LAN network and access to management GUI's on router and switches is the typical
192.168.1.0/24. Ideally I would like to change this, but that can come later - right now with the router, two switches and the AP to manage via web gui's on this subnet I daren't make any changes. How to go about making that change might be a future question!
Port 16 connects to a 5-port TP-Link PoE switch and from there to a Unifi U6 Access Point (VLAN aware) - I think this should be Tagged as it will carry VLANs 1, 33 (GUEST) and 44 (CAMS) ? VLAN trunking box ticked?
(I will also have to figure out the TP-Link PoE switch's configuration. It has a non-PoE port no. 5 that does data only and which should therefore be Tagged as a trunk port. But I'm not really asking for help on a TP-Link device in a Zyxel forum!)
As I said with everything currently working on the default VLAN 1 on the GS1920-24 connecting to pfsense, and also to my AP via the TP-Link PoE switch - essentially everything is currently working as if the switches involved were 'dumb'. However there is no Guest Wifi and no security cameras or audio devices connected to any ports on any switch.
Your understanding is correct. However, in the default VLAN setting of the switch, the PVID is 1, so it assigns VID 1 to incoming untagged packets and forwards them with VID 1. Therefore, both tagging and untagging Port 16 (connected to TP-Link) on the GS1920-24v2 to VLAN1 are acceptable.
Regarding Port 13 connected to the pfsense router, upon reviewing the pfsense router settings, there's no option to configure the VLAN ID for the LAN interface. Therefore, you will need to set your GS1920-24v2 Port 13 with VLAN 1, untag, and the packets will be forwarded as LAN1.
As for the Port 16 connects to a 5-port TP-Link PoE switch that I think needs to be able to do VLAN too or if you can connect all CAMS to one switch you can make that untag to port 16 and tag to port 13 VLAN 44 then port 17 with to Access Point switch untag to port 17 and tag to port 13 VLAN 33

Thank you both once again for your replies. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all. Then I have to find a fairly big chunk of free time to get it all set up and troubleshoot. Given ongoing health problems I don't know when that will be but I'm a lot clearer on the basic plan thanks to your support.
Now i have a problem. The reasons i bought the FWA710 was the special price that had the last days(we wanted the 7101 initially), secondly that we wanted in company an external 5G router and finally the ability to have multiple APNs that we will control them throw vLans.
At the time of this writing, our outdoor mobile routers, such as the NR7101 and FWA710, do not feature VLAN and MTU settings. Recognizing the potential usefulness of these settings for users, we are considering this as a potential feature for future evaluation. You can view and contribute to this idea in the following section:
The Nebula FWA710 functions as an outdoor mobile router. Indeed, the Cellular WAN settings page corresponds to your first screenshot. As for the second screenshot, it displays settings for an indoor mobile router, the Nebula FWA510 as an example, which you can learn more about here: Nebula FWA510.
Regarding the discrepancy you noticed in the screen display during loading and after completion, we appreciate your observation and are considered submitting a feature request to address this in a future update. Your feedback is invaluable to us.
Before i buy the router i had read the whole manual because i wanted as i expressed in my 1st post dual APNs with vLans. It was a crucial feature for me. In page 109 of the manual it doesnt say that is not for the FWA710 and till this model all the Zyxel 5G routers had all the settings. I dont understand why this model must be cripled of the settings? If i knew that i would had bought the NR7101.
Apologies for lack of noting the difference between Indoor and Outdoor mobile routers in our manual's page 109 and 110. The current Mobile router manual is a general guide for all mobile routers, as indicated on page 1&2. We acknowledge the need for clarity and will update the manual accordingly to make it easier for users to navigate.
I also want to inform you that the NR7101 is an outdoor mobile router, similar to the FWA710, there is no VLAN setting in the Cellular WAN page looks like your first screenshot. If the APNs with VLANs feature, as mentioned in your first post, is vital for you, we recommend contacting your reseller to consider switching to an indoor mobile router like the FWA510 or NR5101.
I would like to share with you about the Nebula FWA710 and, more broadly, outdoor mobile routers (MRs). Nebula Outdoor MRs are designed with the industrial-grade components with outdoor-friendly design making it possible to work in harsh environment conditions. They can serve as the backbone network for your home or company, connecting via Ethernet cable. Typically, these outdoor MRs are connected to a main router or firewall. It's important to note that outdoor MRs only support a 2.4GHz wireless network, which is intended primarily for configuration purposes.
In contrast, indoor MR models like the FWA510 and NR5101 are capable of functioning independently, equipped with a comprehensive set of features. However, these indoor MRs are not designed for harsh environments.
Its an outdoor router and correctly Zyxel has wifi only to be able to alter settings for it. Anyone who buys an outdoor 5G router, buys it because he has the need for better signal and also whoever buys a router like that for sure has other router for the company like we have here.
Also i forgot to mention that the device is a great professional product and the sort amount of time i have it i am impressed of the durability and the settings that he has. The signal also is great if you install it correctly and i have only good words for it.
Before creating a feature request, we need to clarify the specific application requirements for using multiple APNs and controlling them through VLANs. This includes understanding the purpose, such as whether different traffic types should use different APNs, among other considerations. We also explore if there are alternative solutions that can fulfill your needs.
There is no special application except that one of the greek providers here (Cosmote) gives with 2nd APN and if you request it, the ability to have public IP with reduced speed. This is very good and you can put 2 APNs with one sim card and pass to you lan the 2nd Apn connection with a 2nd vlan. We do the above here succsesfully with MIkrotik routers. At this moment i can use the 1st APN or the 2nd but not both simultaneously.
Also some providers here in Greece want 1500mtu and some others 1372 and this setting is also missing in the FWA710. I havent spot any other brand that sells 5G routers that has not the setting for the MTU really.
I then had to go through so many steps to regain access to the router by finally removing the device from Nebula portal and resetting the firmware numerous times. I even downgraded the firmware but that still didnt help.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you encounter any persistent problems, kindly provide details about the issue or outline the actions leading to it. If possible, include a screenshot or video recording of the problem.
Here exact the same problem. Also when setting up WIFI settings by the local IP or Guest wifi settings ik actually creates the WIFI acces by name but impossible to set Password so now i am stuck with open WIFI. Can only reset to and then use the standard name and password. I do not want that.
I tried with support to slve the WIFI problem. No luck untill now. I tried different browsers on MAc and also on Windows with no luck. Support can create through Nebula a new WIFI name with password and their conclusion is that there is nothing wrong with the system. But clearly seen here it is a more wide spread problem.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We have received your feedback, and our team has confirmed the existence of the issue. We are actively working to implement a solution and will provide updates on our progress. Thank you for your understanding.
Thanks all for your replies. I did manage to resolve this issue eventually a few days back. The way I did this, was to again restore the device to its factory defaults by downgrading the firmware as follows:
