OurfibreACE cards would save you testing and buying third party converters. However they require OM3 or OM4 fibre, and you would need a technician to re-terminate the cables with the right connectors (opticalCon Duo or LC).

You can probably look for Gigabit converters that offer the connector type you currently have. For example the Fiberfox FCM-GMC we tested can be ordered with an expanded beam connector (though I cannot guarantee mechanical compatibility with the Digico cable).

Van Damme Cat 6 Tourcat SF/UTP is a 23 AWG solid conductor screened cable with polyethylene cross member specifically designed for dynamic use. It meets the requirements of Category 6 TIA/EIA-568-C-2, and has been tested with a Fluke DSX cable verifier, proving Cat 5E Gigabit channel link performance to 77 metres. Longer distances are possible but not guaranteed.

I had an annoying experience recently. I wished to record a live show from a band who are friends of mine. Said band hadn't played in my city for nearly 3 years and it was a one-off show.

I contacted the venue sound guy who is also an old friend and he said sure, we can record from the Firewire output on the AVID SC48 console. Comes gig time, Firewire had disconnected and failed to reconnect despite frantic attempts so no recording. Afterwards he said maybe it was the $3 ebay Firewire cable he was using. Needless to say, I was not happy.

Fortunately I have a recording of their 2019 show at a different venue from a Digico SD10 using the Digico UB-MADI MADI to USB interface so I can still work on that. The Digico recording worked perfectly.

I had a plan B though. Would this second longer cable also have issues, I would have bought an USB female to male USB cable.

The audio interface shall have sixteen mic/line inputs on XLR connectors with remote controlled pre-amplifiers. Inputs shall have individually selectable phantom power with front-panel indication of status. It shall also have eight line level outputs on XLR connectors.
