Open call for applications to the 6th edition of Performance Platform Lublin festival

Performance Art Foundation and Galeria Labirynt invite artists to participate in a competition accompanying the 6th edition of the international Performance Platform Lublin festival. The festival has been organised in Lublin since 2009 and is dedicated to the art of performance. The main objective of the festival is to present the diversity of paths, strategies and artistic attitudes as well as new phenomena taking place within this field of art. Special attention is paid to the work of young artists standing at the beginning of their artistic path, interested in exploring the domain of performance art.
Performance Platform Lublin 2013 will be held from 16th to 18th of October 2014 in the Galeria Labirynt in Lublin. The programme of the festival consists of two parts: live performances and the video part during which selected film documentation of performances and video performances will be presented. Therefore, the competition involves two separate admission processes: to the “live” programme and to the “video” programme. The candidates can participate in one or both of them.
We invite artists who are under 35 years of age and who have not participated in the previous editions of the Performance Platform Lublin festival.
How to apply
In order to participate in the competition, please send the completed application form with the documentation of performances realised so far:

with a note: “Performance Platform Lublin 2014”
The applications must be received at the Gallery no later than 15.07.2014.
The documentation of the performances realised so far should include:
a) at least 7 photographs of previous performances
b) links to the video documentation of performances – maximum duration of one film: 15 minutes
c) a detailed description of photographs and video files including the title, the date and place of the performance, the full name of the author of the documentation (if they are known)
The materials sent by post will not be returned to the authors.
The list of the artists selected to participate in the festival will be announced not later than on 30.07.2014 on www.performanceplatform.pl website.
The artists qualified to participate in the “live” programme of the festival will be offered:
- accommodation during the festival
- a fee of 1000 PLN
- for the artists living outside Poland – partial reimbursement of travel expenses up to 700 PLN
- photographic and video documentation of the performances during the festival
- technical support, help in organising the materials necessary for the performance
The artists whose works will be presented in the film programme of the festival will be offered:
- their presence in all publicity materials and on the festival website www.performanceplatform.pl

Results will be announced not later than on 30.07.2014
