SAS Developer

6 months (contract to hire)

Baltimore, MD

 

Our client has a need for a SAS Analyst with moderate level SAS abilities (3-5 years range) w/ IBM mainframe experience for a direct hire opportunity. Financial services industry experience is a plus but not a necessity.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviewing SAS programs on the mainframe IBM platform,
• Deciphering these programs, re-engineering these programs,
• Converting these programs to execute efficiently in a Unix environment,
• Commenting code so that novice level SAS users understand the mechanics of the program.
• Designing and executing SAS scripts and building reports using Excel as delivery system

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of SAS experience on the mainframe IBM platform
• Ability to operate in fast paced high volume environment with proven abilities to consistently meet aggressive deadlines
• Serve as subject matter expert with respect to SAS and other business intelligence tools such as SQL
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities
• Background includes experience in risk strategy, data models, or score building
• Presentation skills required with abilities to successfully influence and drive direction to accomplish department goals
• Analytic thinker with keen business insights

Nice to have

• VBA skills preferred
• Database design and architecture experience preferred
• MS SharePoint experience preferred
