Programmer Analyst

Whom to Search for:

Programmer Analyst with experience in Informatica ETL programming and .NET programming knowledge. 

Experience doing Application Development related to Finance and Actuarial business solutions is a big plus.

 

Position: Programmer Analyst (the emphasis is on the client server environment)

 

Position Summary: Work with business units in the Actuarial and Finance areas to develop new applications, integrate purchased software and support existing applications.  Responsible for all stages of project development analysis and design, development and testing, implementation and documentation. (We are developing an Experience Study Database for our Actuarial area persistency of our policyholders; calculating our amount of risk, etc.)

 

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

·        Perform analysis for enhancements and/or new applications.  Works with project lead and/or customer to define scope and identify interdepartmental impacts.  Approaches analysis with a divisional mentality versus a site only mentality.

·        Provide estimates on projects to include high-level requirements, level of effort and costs

·        Perform design, coding, testing and implementation on project requests.

·        Maintain existing application systems to provide technical support to resolve production problems and respond to user requests, if needed.

·        Utilize knowledge of project methodologies and project life cycle from the development of requirements through user acceptance and implementation.

·        Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·        Maintain compliance with all standards, controls, policies and practices as an active participant in our Company’s Information Privacy and Security Program.

 

Education/Experience/Background

 

Minimum Requirements

·        Bachelor degree in computer science or business or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

·        Minimum of 10 years work experience

·        Ability to handle multiple projects at one time

·        Ability to think independently and formulate solutions to complex business problems

·        Strong communication and organization skills

·        Enthusiastic team player; valued for initiative and ability to combine technical skills and project management activities.

·        Be adaptive and flexible and a quick learner of new applications and processes

·        Be a self-motivated individual

·        Proficient in Client Server environment

·        Knowledgeable in .NET programming (VB, ASP & C#.NET)

·        Experience with data management, relational or object oriented system

·        Knowledgeable in Informatica ETL programming

 

Desired Requirements

·        Experience in Application Development related to Finance and Actuarial business solutions

·        Knowledgeable in COBOL, JCL and DB2

(Were not looking for multi-platform Our focus is C#.NET, Informatica, SQL Server) Emphasis on the C#.NET.    Finally, the candidate should be proficient with Informatica.  Mainframe Development (COBOL, JCL) is a plus.
