I seam not be able to find Percona 5.7 cluster setup document.  While fillowing 5.6 https://www.percona.com/doc/percona-xtradb-cluster/5.6/index.html , i had

[ERROR] unknown variable 'wsrep_provider=/usr/lib64/libgalera_smm.so'

Would you please shed some light ?

Hi James,

I assume you are trying to use PXC-5.6 and you ended up with some error and so you probably started looking for PXC-5.7.

As clarified by Laurynas PXC-5.7 is not yet available.

But I would be happy to help you resolve PXC-5.6 issue.

Are you sure you are using PXC binaries and not PS binaries ?

Also, is there some error is passing the option wsrep_provider ?

Hi Krunal,

The following was what I did:

sudo yum install http://www.percona.com/downloads/percona-release/redhat/0.1-3/percona-release-0.1-3.noarch.rpm

sudo yum install Percona-Server-server-57.x86_64

sudo yum install Percona-XtraDB-Cluster-galera-56.x86_64

I had then followed your PXC-5.6 documentation to set the cluster up and had the error message.

If Percona server 5.7 can NOT use PXC-5.6, I shall wait.  If it can, please advise how.

Hi James,

1. Seems like you are installing PS-5.7 along with PXC-galera package.

    PS-5.6 or PS-5.7 are not meant to be for cluster setup and so you are facing the issue. They will install standalone server.

2. What you need is PXC-5.6 server that talk to galera plugin to get the cluster functionality.

3. PS and PXC are 2 different products. PS will never be enabled for cluster. 

4. You can get latest PXC-5.6 binaries from here https://www.percona.com/downloads/Percona-XtraDB-Cluster-56/LATEST/

5. If there is any doc notes that kind made you think that PS can operate with galera-56 then please help point out. We will need to fix it right away.

I presume that PXC-5.6 is based on MySQL 5.6?

When will PXC-5.7 (I assume MySQL 5.7) be ready roughly please?
