Air in the motor pots?

We finished our waxing of the motor pots. One thing I noticed is that
it was impossible to remove all the air from the pots. I assume this
is normal as this toilet bowl wax is not the kind of wax that hardens
up like candle wax. Can anyone comment on this? We are still
building ours so it has not seen any water time yet.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I find that it's easiest to get all the air out of the sides if you
focus on one motor at a time and move quickly, this means the wax is
hot and not viscous, thus the air moves out easily.
1. add 1/4" wax to pot A
2. add motor to pot A
3. fill pot A almost to the top with wax
4. squish out air bubbles
5. Repeat 1-4 for motor B, then for motor C
6. go back to pot A, fill to a positive meniscus, cap.
7. repeat 6 for motor B, then for motor C

when capping the motors, my rule of thumb is that as long as you have
wax more that 50% of the cover, it's good, (this means that any air
bubble is less than 50% of the cover space, thus, wax comes out the
hole in the cover, not air)

Hope that helps!
Cheers
Sarah
