Painting ? Competition ?

I am part of a new program in Maryland building the sea perch with 5th
graders. Has any one had sucess painting these robots and any advise
would be appreciated. We would like our group to have some
individuality. Keep in mind our time limit is small and we would have
to slip this in during construction.

Also has anyone experienced any showcase or competition with the
finished robots? I beleive we are going to have a showcase in May 2008
at the U S Naval Academy in Annapolis MD. We are part of the Anne
Arundel County School System. I am not sure if this will be the first
year or if it has been done before. I would like to be prepared. Is
there specific tasks that will be required? Will we be as a team? Can
we get our kids T-shirts? Can we Name our team? Etc. I have been to
the "First USA Robotics" competitions in the past and am wondering if
this showcase is similar. I hope so.

Any advise or experiences would be helpful.
