Persatuan Kesedaran Komuniti Selangor – Empower is a non-profit, non-governmental civil society committed to promoting and defending women and human rights and equality; voters’ right to free and fair elections; democracy and governance in Malaysia. Our work is built on mutual understanding and respect, celebrates diversities in the lives of Malaysian women, men and youth.

 

EMPOWER offers an opportunity to deepen one’s knowledge and skills, work with communities that EMPOWER partners with, and to fully engage in right-based advocacy and campaigns to contribute towards democracy and justice.

 

EMPOWER is seeking two vibrant and energetic individuals who are willing to excel beyond the limits and be part of our team.  Successful candidates also works with the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections [BERSIH 2.0].

 

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

 

The primary tasks of the Communications Officer are as follows:

a)    Developing effective communication and media strategies to disseminate information and promote the vision, mission and programmes of EMPOWER

b)    Building effective use of social media, including website development for information dissemination

c)    Writing, researching and developing creative information for members and the wider public for information and involvement.

d)    Requiring effective communication and social skills, team worker, fluent in spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English.

 

ADVOCACY OFFICER

 

The primary tasks of the Advocacy Officer are as follows:

a)    Developing effective advocacy strategies to promote and defend for women and human rights and free and fair elections, in accordance to the vision, mission and programmes of EMPOWER

b)    Building constituencies whom will advocate and campaign for human rights and free and fair elections

c)    Developing capacity building programmes to support and strengthen constituencies

d)    Writing, researching and developing new advocacy actions, campaigns and activities for public information and involvement

e)    Requiring effective communication and social skills, team worker, fluent in spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia and English.
