I just upgraded to pyenchant 1.5.3, and it seems to work for me. Is
it a non-English language?

Do you know what the version number is of the system's underlying
enchant library? I'm at 1.4.2 on my machine, and my package manager
(gentoo) doesn't have a build for enchant 1.5.0 which is the latest
version on http://www.abisource.com/projects/enchant/
