It appears that this map is good for the date of origin for property
in the region that is extant. It doesn't appear to cover property that
no longer exists. For example, at Homestead or Munhall, the site of
the former Homestead Works is identified as The Waterfront and no
record is made of the date of origin of the steel mill buildings on
that site. However, once I was able to finally able to figure out how
to use it, I can see that this is a facinating development visual.
