Carrie,

What browser & OS are you running PeopleBrowsr in? And what is that
hardware that you're running it on (CPU, RAM)

We do recommend running PB in the latest versions of Chrome, FireFox,
and Safari. The javascript handling in other browsers (including
Opera, IE, and older versions of FireFox) is significantly slower.

If you're running in a recommended browser, please let us know, and
we'll work with you to reduce this error.

Hi Rob,

I'm running FF 3.5.6. I will try updating to 3.5.7--might that be
enough to make a difference?

OS is XP pro, Service Pack 3.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo
E4500 @ 2.20GHz
2.19GHz, 1.98 GB RAM

Thanks!
Carrie

There are several security enhancements to 3.5.7 that make switching a
very good idea.

With each version, Firefox shows improved javascript handling speed.
It should make a difference.

It also may make a difference to not run other (large) javascript
based web apps in the same browser.

In my own configuration, running FF3.5.7, XP SP1 (or on Mac OSX) , on
a Macbook w/2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, I do not see slow script
notifications. I also do not see slow script notices on Vista/FF3.5.7
on a 1.6GHz Pentium CeleronM (single core) 2GB RAM.

You might wish to investigate what your computer is running through
the Task Manager. If you are running enough applications (or system
tray items) you may be consuming more RAM than you're aware of,
causing the machine to slow considerably.

You may find that Chrome runs PeopleBrowsr faster, especially if you
have other web applications running simultaneously in FireFox.

Here is a link from a recent benchmark test comparing the javascript
handling in several popular browsers:
