Is there a way to login into dash.ly by providing a twitter user/
password?

Alex,

Dash.ly is using OAuth, When you click on the Login link on that page, you'll be directed to twitter.com for authentication, and then directed back to dash.ly

Hope this helps,

Rob,

Thanks! But it doesn't help.
I was resorting to dash.ly as a way to access Twitter where
twitter.com is blocked.
Any chance the old login page comes back?

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry, Alex, I misunderstood the question. I believe that it's now Twitter's policy to convert web applications from basic authentication to oAuth (or in some rare cases, xAuth)

But, it doesn't seem xAuth will satisfy the requirement where Twitter is blocked.
"xAuth requires that you use header-based OAuth authentication against an SSL access token end point, using the POST HTTP method." ( http://dev.twitter.com/pages/xauth

http://dev.twitter.com/pages/auth_overview provides additional information regarding Twitter policy and recommendations.
