Hidden costs and gender issues in reintroductions and translocations of wildlife: a case study from India
Dear colleagues
Thank you for attending our latest online discussion on the 12th of May. Dr Manral and Dra Doubleday took us on a challenging journey through their research and experiences working in conservation projects in India. It was a lively and stimulating discussion that inspired a new understanding of diverse gendered roles in human-wildlife interactions, how these affect the success of conservation translocations, and opens new pathways to the development of gender sensitive research and practice. We are very thankful to both our leads for their enthralling insights… If you missed it, or would like to see it again, here is the link for the recording:
We are working on an Action Plan for 2022-25 and panning new discussions and events we will be sharing with you shortly. Meanwhile, please note that our recently published guidelines can be found here, open access:

The Special issue of the Frontiers in Conservation Sciences, Animal Section "Human Dimensions of Animal Translocations"2022 is also out now, open access via link, with a series of papers that are of interest to our community. Some papers are still going through the editorial process to complete the issue.
If you are new to the group or have questions, suggestions or would like to contact us, please send an email to adriana.con...@canterbury.ac.uk, and I’ll be happy to respond.

Dear Shekhar
This is great to hear, I am glad you were able to watch the event. Feedback has been great, it really gripped the audience!
Do keep us updated about the progress of the Landscape Restoration project, as it has a lot of alignment with interesting issues for conservation translocations.
Very best wishes
Adriana
