The Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources at Colorado State University is accepting applications for a 12-month Postdoctoral Fellow position. Note that remote work for this position is allowable.
The position will involve working with a team of researchers, led by Drs. Michael Manfredo and Tara Teel, on a project involving a global survey of values toward nature and wildlife. The survey is being conducted across multiple countries and world regions, including Canada, Latin America, Europe, and Australia. The position may also include work on other conservation social science research projects.
Required Qualifications:
-PhD in human dimensions of natural resources, conservation social sciences, psychology, sociology, or related field
-Demonstrated experience publishing peer-reviewed social science publications
-Demonstrated ability to perform statistical analysis in software packages such as SPSS and R
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
-Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience presenting research findings to stakeholders/practitioners and/or researchers
-Demonstrated experience with mixed methods, including quantitative survey research and qualitative (e.g., interview, focus group) techniques
-Demonstrated experience with online surveys for social science research
-Knowledge of psychological measurement
-Advanced statistical programming skills (e.g., factor analysis, hierarchical linear modeling, Bayesian inference)
-Demonstrated ability to develop visual graphic displays (e.g., geographic maps, figures) of social science research findings for reporting purposes
