Dear friends

 

Please find attached a slightly amended version of the Alternative civil society Astana declaration on PHC – for mass circulation .

 

The amendments are primarily in the paragraph page 1 starting “Although these objectives are shared…..”. In our view, this makes it accurate according to the last publically available version of the official declaration (16 August). The latest version (3^rd October) is still under discussion with member states and has not been publically shared – we may need to do some slight amendments once this is public. It would most likely be to the same paragraph.

 

There might be some confusion as there is another civil society declaration in circulation for sign on. We originally wanted to cross reference or even see if it was possible to bring the two together – there are however some fundamental differences which make this impossible.

 

We really need as much support for this as possible, to re-affirm commitment to PHC as defined in the Alma Ata declaration:

·         Please consider signing on if you / your organisation has not signed on

·         Please circulate to the regional lists, and networks and organisations you know that you think would be interested

·         Please also share on social media
