Anwar - Najib, kenapa engko takut sama itu Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary...

Posted: 09 Sep 2012 11:22 AM PDT

Ketua Pembangkang, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim mempersoalkan tindakan Kerajaan Pusat memberikan kontrak penswastaan jutaan ringgit kepada jutawan Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar al-Bukhary.

Syed Mokhtar, menerusi beberapa syarikatnya, menguasai lapangan terbang Senai, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) dan pelabuhan Pasir Gudang.

Mahathir is implying that under PR govt., Malaysia will be better managed, better governed that rakyat will find it difficult to support BN/UMNO anymore...

Should Dr Mahathir Mohamad's prediction that BN will never regain power if it loses to Pakatan Rakyat be realised, it would be the result of the coalition's own doing, said PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"He (Mahathir) says once you (BN) lose, it will go on forever. That's true because the entire corruption and mismanagement by BN will be exposed," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

pantai dalam pkr open house 090912Anwar said the stark difference between Pakatan and BN once the former captures federal power would mean BN would have a hard time convincing people to support it anymore.

"I think he (Mahathir) is implying that under Pakatan government, it will be better managed, more just, better governed that people will find it difficult to support BN," he said.

Mahathir had on several occasions warned that Pakatan will use underhanded tactics to remain power forever if it is successful in ousting BN as the federal government.

Dr Mahathir’s warning came when he spoke to a crowd of government retirees in Lembah Pantai here, but he did not elaborate further, instead urging voters to appreciate BN’s “good governance” over the past 55 years.

“But no way... once they gain power, they will do everything possible, and we cannot change again to BN... by then, it will be too late,” Dr Mahathir had said.

The country’s longest-serving prime minister then reminded the audience of his experience in government, and said he “knows a few things”.

He also repeated a recent point made on his blog and in public speeches that “change” may not necessarily be for the better.

“A lot of people ask, ‘Should there not be a change (of government)?’ I feel — and I do have some experience... you remember, I was PM for 22 years — change is not always for the better.

Earlier, Anwar spoke at Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar's open house at Pantai Dalam where he praised the over 1,000 participants for turning up despite recent bouts of political violence.

"I thank the crowd here for not being intimidated even though stones rained at our last event (here)," he said.

Anwar was referring to an incident in May within the same vicinity, where an elderly man suffered a bloodied head after PKR's ceramah was attacked by a stone-throwing mob, among other casualties.

Pre-dawn heckling

According to Nurul Izzah's political secretary Fahmi Fadli, a group of youths had heckled party workers who were setting up tents for the open house at 2am today.

"They threatened our workers and wanted them to take down our flags," he said.

However, the group left after a brief stand off.

Fahmi noted that the open house which was held within the compound of Pantai Permai Apartment was a high density area which comprised 20 percent of Lembah Pantai voters.

Taking advantage of this, PKR took its "Lower Car Price" campaign to the lower-middle class neighbourhood with its iconic yellow cheap mobile parked at the open house.

Nurul Izzah had in 2008 shocked political observers when she unseated senior minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil at Lembah Pantai.

Federal Territories and Urban Well Minister Raja Nong Chik has since began pouring massive resources into the constituency in a bid to unseat the incumbent.

Despite acknowledging the challenge, Nurul Izzah had said that she will defend her seat.- malaysiakini

Book Review: Zaid Ibrahim’s Ampun Tuanku

Book Review: Zaid Ibrahim’s Ampun Tuanku
M. Bakri Musa

Last of Three Parts: Opportunities for Sultans as Head of Islam

[In the first part of this essay I explored the myth to the sultans’ claim of their special powers based on daulat (divine dispensation); in the second, I examined the dynamics that led them to claim that status today. In this third and last essay, I reviewed Zaid’s novel views of how the sultans could indeed claim their “special powers” by virtue of the fact of their being head of Islam.]

The constitution explicitly states the secular role of sultans. There are no penumbras or derived powers. In practice however, as Zaid noted with everything pertaining to the law, if you have money you could always hire a smarter lawyer who would argue otherwise. Indeed that is what the sultans are doing as they now can afford expensive legal counsel; hence their claim of “something extra” based on daulat.

Legal theories do not arise out of nowhere. It is the current weak political leadership of Najib (and Abdullah Badawi before him) that emboldens the sultans to reassert themselves and challenge established principles and practices.

That notwithstanding, there is one area in the constitution that is indisputable and unchallengeable: The sultan as head of Islam. This is where the sultan could rightly claim his special status as his authority there is absolute. Creatively managed, it could prove to be a splendid opportunity for them to serve not only Malays but also non-Muslim Malaysians.

“Where Islam is concerned,” Zaid writes, “the Malay Rulers have a golden opportunity to make their mark.” That they do not is the greatest missed opportunity, for them as well as for Malaysians and Malaysia.

This special role in Islam for the sultan has a strong foundation. The concept of a supreme head of the ummah goes back to the days of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs and indeed Prophet Muhammad, s.a.w., himself. Not surprisingly, modern Muslim leaders including our sultans have conveniently latched on to that symbolism.

Historically and for very practical reasons, the British were only too happy to relegate matters of Islam to the sultans. That was also politically shrewd as it placated both the natives and their sultans. Conveniently, Islam was also then peripheral if not irrelevant to the politics and economics of the country. So that was an easy concession on the part of the colonials. Further, with Malays consumed with their sultans and religion, that eased the British to exploit the economic riches of the land with the help of immigrants who were unencumbered with either.

Today the situation is very different. Malays are still obsessed with their religion and to some extent (although decidedly less so) their sultans. Islam today however, is central to everything that is Malaysian, especially politics and economics. The increasingly shrill contestation of Islam between UMNO and PAS attests to this. Islamic financial institutions are now major players, and zakat collections are in the billions.

At one level, Malays’ continuing obsession with religion and the afterlife distracts us from making our rightful contribution to the country, especially in matters economic. At another, this presents lucrative opportunities for the sultans to intrude into Islamic financial and economic spheres all in the guise of their being head and defender of the faith.

With his legal background, Zaid rightly focuses on the increasingly assertive role of syaria in the administration of justice. In the past, syaria was concerned primarily with family law, as with divorce and inheritance cases. Now it encroaches into areas hitherto the purview of secular (both civil as well as criminal) courts. Syaria is now on par with and in many instances superior to secular courts, in effect above the constitution. Fatwas (decrees issued by religious functionaries) now have the power of law, thus usurping the legislature.

If those were not problematic enough, with syaria usurping the criminal courts Malaysians face the reality that the punishment they get would depend not on the crime they have committed rather their faith. A Muslim caught committing adultery could face “stoning to death” under syaria while non-Muslims would not even be prosecuted, or if prosecuted would be slapped with a small fine for indecent exposure perhaps and suffer the wrath of their spouses. Even in matters pertaining to family law, they can get messier especially where one party to the dispute is a non-Muslim. The victims are not just the living. Recent cases of “corpse snatching” are but one ugly manifestation.

This judicial abdication by the secular courts, in Zaid’s view, occurred because their judges are mostly Malays who want to appear “pious and upright Muslims… want[ing] to fit into the ‘correct’ image of a good Muslim.”

Islam emancipated the ancient Bedouins and made them give up their odious practices such as female infanticide and “an eye for eye” sense of justice. Perversely today, the more Malays and Malaysia become “Islamized,” the more backward, corrupt, polarized and dysfunctional Malays and Malaysia become. The irony!

“Islam – the great purifier and liberating force in the world – had been reduced to an ordinary cult in Malaysia,” writes Zaid. Not any ordinary cult but a rogue one, with corrupt, toxic leaders.

As undisputed leaders of Islam, sultans have a major role to correct these obvious pathologies. That they have abdicated this crucial role is a major factor to Malays becoming deeply polarized and increasingly marginalized economically. That is a tragedy not only for Malays but also for all Malaysians. Ultimately this will also negatively impact the sultans.

The sultans have shirked their responsibilities because one, they are ill equipped to play this important role as head of the faith. They have severely limited knowledge of Islam and worse, they lack the curiosity to learn. They are Islamically-challenged in all spheres. Thus they become captive to the ulamas (the state sponsored ones), an arrangement reminiscent to what the Saudi royals have with their religious establishment.

The personal behaviors of these sultans also preclude them from playing exemplary roles in Islam. They frequent casinos, night clubs and golf courses, not mosques and suraus. The notable exception is the current Sultan of Kelantan. His visible piety softened what otherwise would have been a very negative public perception of filial betrayal and palace coup after he took power from his incapacitated father. His modest and pious lifestyle also embarrassed the other royals. There is a picture going viral on the Internet of him removing his shoes before entering a mosque during Ramadan. This was juxtaposed to that of the Johore crown prince being fitted with his polo riding boots by one of his subjects. The contrast could not have been more revealing; two very different portraits of the head of Islam.

At another level, Malay sultans do not pay any income or other taxes. It can be argued that this is the norm for monarchies elsewhere, those being the privileges of being head of state. In Islam however, nobody is exempted from its precepts. One of the five cardinal obligations of a Muslim is to give zakat (tithe) in the amount of 2.5 percent of the value of your assets. This applies to leaders and followers, imams and ordinary believers, and sultans as well as subjects.

As head and defender of the faith a sultan must be an exemplary Muslim. I challenge our sultans to declare how much zakat they have contributed. On the contrary, they are the consumers and beneficiaries of zakat.

In the final analysis, the fate of Malaysian sultans lies less with what is written in the constitution or their accepted role as head of Islam, rather how they perform both in their official roles as well as personal capacities. As for the former, we have the Sultans’ of Perak and Trengganu performances following the last elections to go by; for the latter, the thuggish behaviors of the Johor princes and the debt-skipping late Yang Di Pertuan of Negri Sembilan. With such examples we cannot be optimistic on the future of the institution of sultans.
The sultans may be the constitutional heads of state but to most non-Malays they are irrelevant; they are after all Malay rajas. Those non-Malays who found the sultans useful do so because they provide reliable conduits to lucrative government contracts. The relationship is less symbiotic, more parasitical. I leave it to my readers to determine which party is the parasite. Those are the non-Malays who flaunt their fancy royal titles and are genuinely proud of their status as Malay hulubalangs (knights). Few Malays, especially the young, urban and educated, have favorable views of their sultans. Those in the kampong still display at least outwardly their loyalty and fealty, but that is more an expression of cultural courtesy rather than respect.
I visited my kampong in Negri Sembilan near the royal town of Sri Menanti during the reign of its former ruler and was surprised by the outward displays of loyalty by the villagers despite and especially considering the blatant “un-Islamic” and “un-Malay” behaviors of the princes. One would conclude that this tolerance of and acceptance by those villagers effectively turned them into enablers for the royals’ excesses.
Then that Yang Di Pertuan died and the Undangs bypassed his family in their choice of his successor. The relief and joy of the villagers was palpable. Only then could one subtly discern the loathing they had for the members of the previous royal family.
On a grander scale, one would be hard put to deny the “love” the Iranians had for their late Shah, judging from their behaviors during the 2,500-year Persepolis “anniversary” celebration in 1971. Who could have predicted that barely eight years later the Shah would be hounded out of his country!
The Shah of Iran, Egypt’s Farouk, and the King of Afghanistan all had their positions secured in their respective constitutions. During their reign, they all enjoyed the effusive adulations and loyalty of their subjects. Today those monarchs are all gone; recalling their names would only evoke loathing among their former subjects.
Malay sultans would do well to ponder that. As they reflect, they would also do well to read Zaid Ibrahim’s Ampun Tuanku. Better yet, invite him to address their next Conference of Rulers. That would be the best way for them to avoid the fate they endured during the Japanese Occupation, or worse.

(VIDEO) Tulang Besi Sembelih Ayam

Posted: 09 Sep 2012 07:55 AM PDT

Hairan.

Sekadar bermuhasabah

The YouTube video first uploaded by blogger Jiwa Paradox about a man believed to be Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, drawing his automatic pistol from a fleeing car in Kampung Rim, Jasin, Melaka on 8 September.

In the YouTube video, the man was in a black Toyota Camry leaving a scene as another man was running away in opposite direction from the fleeing car.

Zimbo, clearly taking aim against no one near him (probably a jeering crowd plus photographer/videographer) in a threatening act as the black Camry flees the scene

In slow motion, it is clear the man not only used his right hand to draw and took aim with the pistol but also used his left hand to support the aim. That should be construed as taking aim at a target just moments before pulling the trigger and had the intentions to discharge the weapon.

Then again there was no clear indication of any threat was eminent to the black Camry. The man in the black car’s action is a serious act of agression. In a situation of such crisis, that act warrants an act of self defence.

Supremo Journo-Blogger Datuk Rocky identified the man as Zimbo.

We hope there was a Police report made for this. This looks very serious, as is. Not too long ago, bodyguard to Anwar and PKR legal goons was quick to make a Police report against the Police for “An attempted murder” when they discharged teargas against Bersih protesters.

Anwar As  I Know Him From His Schooldays

DSAI              …..         ‘ I AM INDEBTED TO YOU, SIR
TEACHER    ….              ‘I AM  OBLIGED TO YOU ALL MY LIFE ,YB DSAI ‘

These   poignant words ’I am indebted to you, Sir   ’from   an ex-student of   national   and      international refute and fame make me proud and happy. All  his   teachers at   MCKK   bear testimony to the fact that he had  always  expressed  his appreciation and gratitude to every teacher  for some new  knowledge gained or some new skills acquired or  even for  some ,little favours such as words of advice or  encouragement      .Even as a student at MCKK, he kept in touch with his   Primary School  teachers  thanking them for all they did for him  to make him  a better student –a better person . Here is an   interesting  incident that shows  the breed of  teachers of yesteryears as well as the character  of Anwar  as a pupil.…His  letter of thanks to his English language  teacher, Mr.Francis Ho  , was returned to him with the all his mistakes underlined in red . Anwar proudly showed this to the class  ,and promptly sent  back a new letter   with all the corrections made ,.of course ,with  an  additional ’ Indebted ’ note   attached  .   When  YB Anwar returned to   MCKK,  after decades,  as the Minister of Education, to officiate ‘ The Speech Day’, ’the  non-teaching staff’ were over-whelmed by his presence, .and tried  to keep their distance as a mark of respect for  their YAB.   Anwar went searching for them– houseboys, the cooks   ,the  sweepers–   put everyone at ease  by thanking them for looking after his welfare during his schooldays  In his own characteristic way ,he made everyone feel important when he declared to them ,’’Kejayaan   saya adalah kejayaan   awak juga’ The two outstanding attributes that set him apart from the rest of his peers   are his humility and his love for humanity

As a student in MCKK,   he was loved and respected not just by his peers but by all the teachers and non-teaching staff  as  well   .He was simple and humble in his ways and was always polite and courteous in his speech As a self-disciplined student ,he is one of the few,  if not the only one ,[during my 25 years in MCKK]  who  spent the entire college life without getting punished for   breaking any of the countless  stringent college  rules and regulations. He was  considered  a  Role Model for his peers  not just by the teachers but  by his peers as well .The teachers appointed him as a Prefect .His peers elected him unanimously as the Secretary-General of B.R. UGAMA,  ,a post which speaks  itself for the religious credentials of  the  holder.

Any indication of   his ambition. ,for   eg  the choice of profession? Nothing !  However ,there  was more than enough evidence to  show   that    he was   deeply . disturbed with the prevailing social conditions -the  widening disparity  between the ‘’HAVES’’ and ‘HAVE-NOTS’’,  as he termed them, This  disparity’ was a recurrent  theme  in  his  ‘writings’ and ‘’speeches.

[ In the early  1960’s ,students at Form 3 Level in MCKK were not writing ‘Guided Composition’ but’’ Free Essay’s and even   detailed ‘Reports’ based on research  on political, economic and social problems both at local and international levels.  Anwar who had proved himself to be skilled orator /speaker from his first appearance on the stage within weeks of joining MCKK was by now a school debater . His tyle of presentation  spiced with subtle humour and  deeper meanings embedded in the words and expressions was too  persuasive for  any  opponent   to counter his  arguments.]

Anwar   combined   both his ‘  writing   skills’ and his ‘speaking talents’ to put forward his ideas ,first, among the classmates and schoolmates during the weekly society meetings, and ,later, to the many followers from other -schools in particular from other residential schools.’. He would provide valid and reliable  statistical   evidence based on  data collected  from educational  institutions, government .departments. and private sectors, to argue his case. He would  point out that   it was just NOT   the British but the ‘ALLIANCE’ that had failed miserably   to provide for   and protect the interests of  the’ BUMIS—  group identified by  Anwar   as ‘HAVE-NOTS ‘‘ In his’ writings  and  speeches’, he attacked the ESTABLISHMENT for  not being sensitive or responsive to  the needs of the’ Bumis ’and continued to attack the ‘‘new colonial    masters ’’for their failure to remove or least reduce the disparity in income ,position  and status between   the’HAVES’ and ‘HAVE-NOTS’-   Many misunderstood his stand and labelled him as a ’racist’  but the mixed group of teachers at MCKK were well-aware that he was in fact fighting hard for  social justice, for  greater opportunities for  education and employment and a  fairer distribution of income for the’ BUMIS ‘  He never  asked for’ special privileges’ .. He was confident that given equal opportunities the majority of the ‘BUMIS’ were equally  able and capable of competing successfully   with the ‘NON-BUMIS’ on their own   MERITS and in their own terms..

AUGUST 23 was a’ Special Day’ for my wife and me.  DSAI came to wish us the best of health .The last time I met  DSAI  was  13 years ago.  I   expected to see changes in him.  .It was the same old Anwar…joking and happy, recollecting  pleasant memories .of the past. There was no change in him- no bitterness about people or life.!  We said  farewell and as he departed ,.I realised he was still on  the  SAME OLD   MISSION —to fight for THE RIGHTS OF  ALL  THE ‘HAVE NOTS’

Anggota Polis Sahkan Pengawal Peribadi Anwar Tidak Acu Pistol

Posted: 09 Sep 2012 01:07 AM PDT

KeadilanDaily

Setiausaha Pengelola KEADILAN, Radin Shamsulkamar Radin Shamsudin, berkata Jim berusia lingkungan 30 tahun, ditahan selepas polis menerima lima aduan daripada Pemuda Umno Jasin.

Zimbo, the big Bodyguard who drew his big gun

Posted: 09 Sep 2012 08:52 AM PDT

Ah, nearly missed this video clip of allegedly the same Anwar Ibrahim big Bodyguard .. Courtesy of Jiwa Paradox, with thanks to Ready, Aim ... by Bigdox.

Original Posting:

The Bodyguard: Zimbo; former bodybuilder

The Client: Anwar Ibrahim

The Arrest: Zimbo meet plainclothes

Zimbo, a former bodybuilder and Mr KL contestant, was arrested for drawing his gun on a "mob" in Melaka. The crowd was said to have blocked a double-decker bus carrying Anwar and other PKR leaders from entering a kampung. Zimbo was questioned by police for an hour and later released. Am not sure if he got to keep his gun.

This incident should scare the shit of all of us. Things could have gone very wrong. Someone could have been seriously hurt. Anwar Ibrahim can try and politicize this issue and tell his vanishing ceramah crowds that police should have arrested the "Umno mob" that blocked his bus from entering the kampung. Maybe the police should have. Or maybe Anwar should have waited for PRU13 before he starts campaigning. We can argue and play the blame game till the cows come home.

One thing for sure, a gun is no plaything. I have been around bodyguards all my journalism life and known a few of them but never have I witnessed any of them having to draw their weapons. A bodyguard draws his gun when his client's life is in danger. Was Anwar's life in imminent danger?

That's what Anwar wants everyone to think. And that's how he and his media will try and spin this ...

Anwar : Biar polis siasat isu senjata api pengawal peribadinya...

Pengawal Anwar acu senjata api...

Gun-flashing incident: Anwar leaves it to police...

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim has taken a neutral position over his bodyguard's alleged handgun-flashing incident in Jasin, Malacca yesterday.

Speaking to reporters in Kuala Lumpur today, Anwar said his bodyguard had told him that he was being threatened by hecklers who were blocking PKR's bus.

"His position (bodyguard) was that he followed SOP and that he was threatened, the whole group of gangsters came (to him).

"I leave it to the police. The point to establish is whether the security did it (attempt to flash gun) in self defense and according to SOP," he said when approached at a PKR open house at Pantai Dalam this morning.

Yesterday, NTV7's mandarin news had reported that two police personnel in plain clothes had grabbed the bodyguard before pushing the handgun back into the hip holster.

The bodyguard was subsequently detained and his handgun was disarmed at the scene.

PKR's campaign bus was blocked by about 20 people when attempting to reach Kampung Rim for an event. The bus was struck by red paint.

Anwar stressed that the handgun was licenced.

‘Bodyguard didn’t point gun at hecklers’

However, he denied that his bodyguard had pointed the weapon at the hecklers, dismissing it as "Umno's and Perkasa's version" of the story.

Responding to the need for the security detail, Anwar said he had no choice as the government still refused to act against the series of attacks on Pakatan functions.

"The fact that none of these Umno or Perkasa people were arrested whatsoever throughout these incidents in the last few months is shocking.

"It shows how incompetent and irresponsible Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein are," he said.

Up to police to investigate gun incident, says Anwar

Anwar's bodyguard released after police record statement...

The Melaka police have released a bodyguard of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after recording his statement for allegedly drawing a pistol and pointing it at the public at a function organised by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in Kampung Baru Rim, Jasin, near here yesterday.

Melaka Crime Investigation Department head, ACP Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah, said the 37-year-old was released at 9pm yesterday at the Jasin police headquarters.

He said the man was detained following five police reports lodged over the incident which happened between 3.30pm and 4pm yesterday. The man was investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and was released on police bail after police recorded his statement, he told a media conference at the Melaka police contingent headquarters here today.

Raja Shahrom said preliminary police investigations found that the man had a licence to carry the firearm and based on his statement, he was just doing his job as a personal bodyguard.

However, police would conduct further investigation and would look at the video-recording and pictures taken by members of the public at the scene, he added.

In the 3.15pm incident yesterday, the body guard, who was travelling in a Toyota Camry, got out of the car and drew out his pistol and pointed it at a group of men who were trying to prevent a bus, which Anwar was in, from going to the PKR function. The action of the bodyguard was witnessed by those at the scene who proceeded to disarm him.

Raja Shahrom said police would also investigate into an allegation that the bus was splashed with red paint at the scene. – Bernama

Asean LGBT ~ If their parents had been like them?

A reminder to any Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transexual reading this!

If your father had been a homosexual, you will not be here right now reading this! He would either be sodomizing someone or someone would have sodomized him!

You would not have been conceived by your mom, carried in her womb for 9 or so months and been delivered into this world!

If your mother had been a lesbian, you would not be here reading this either! She would have been rubbing herself raw with another female and both would not have contributed to your coming into existence here in this earthly life!

Your father and mother if they had been rightfully married before your chosen faith have been responsible to nurture you and raise you up to be what you are today?

Your choice in terminating your family lineage by engaging in this abominable major sin will see you being the last of your blood family. Your family ends with you.
The question is...have you wondered how you'll end up?
What state of being you will be in?
Ravaged by the fatal disease of HIV or AIDS and reduced to being a mere fraction of what you started to come to be in the first place!

Think and repent before its too damn late! Be wise. Stop deluding yourself that you are something God did not create you to be!
Return to your senses. You can do it!

Do not commit suicide by indulging in these stupid, disastrous ways.

Anwar - Mahathir is right, Umno-BN is the devil...

Posted: 08 Sep 2012 05:30 PM PDT

anwar ibrahim jelajah merdeka bus tour in serembanOpposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said he has disagreed with former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad on many things, but not with the latter's remark that Umno-BN is the devil.

"I didn't agree on many things with the former prime minister. (For example) I do not agree with the fact that his son has a beer company.

"But I agree with his latest statement indicating that Umno-BN is the devil, while Pakatan Rakyat is the angel.

"We cannot support the devil (Umno-BN) either we know or don't, but we will be safe with Pakatan Rakyat (angel)," Anwar said, addressing a 1,000-strong crowd at the ‘Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat' ceramah road tour in Rantau, Negeri Sembilan last night.

He was responding to Mahathir's recent statement that it's better support the devil you know rather than the angel you don't know.

"I know there are people who are in much more difficulties than me. I have been cursed (maki) day and night.

"When I travel my safety has to be taken care. When I walk, I need bodyguards because there are many bad guys.

"I can't get angry over this since Mahathir has already admitted there are devils," said Anwar and the mixed-race crowd burst out laughing.

After effects of divorce

Anwar also asked his audience whether the mainstream media like Utusan Malaysia, The Star, New Straits Times, RTM and TV3 had ever raised the issue of the family of former prime minister owning beer company San Miguel.

Earlier in the evening at a walkabout in Ampangan, Seremban, Anwar branded Utusan and TV3 as "gila talak" (suffering from withdrawal symptoms of divorce) since his departure from Umno.

jelajah merdeka bus tour in seremban crowd"Every day and night, they attack and slander me. Non-stop slander - RM3 billion (of slush funds), girls and other sort of nonsense.

"I also was attacked by Umno leaders through these media - that the country will go bankrupt if the oil price is reduced and PTPTN (National Higher Education Fund) abolished.

"Tell me which in country in the world went bankrupt after helping the people. Yes, a country can go bankrupt, but that is due to excessive corruption," said Anwar.

He added that his programme in Negeri Sembilan went smoothly without any disruption or violence like what he had experienced in both Kelantan and Kedah.

"Not like in Kelantan, where my bus was hit by stone and paint. Now, whenever I go, people want to see my bus and not me anymore," Anwar quipped with a broad smile.

However, the bus again was hit by red paint when it reached neigbouring Malacca this afternoon.

At the Rantau ceramah, PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail announced that the Negeri Sembilan leg of ‘Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat' was the first stop where the party had tested its makeshift trailer stage.

"This is another improvement by PKR after we launched the campaign by using the bus earlier last month.

"We are trying innovative ways to send the message to the people, and not be like Umno-BN which is still stagnant in its old school mentality of the past 55 years.

"When Nilai 3 was launched by the Umno-BN government, expectations ran high.

"The project earmarked as an ambitious project for developing Negeri Sembilan.

"But what happened to Nilai 3 now? People only go there to buy things if there is wedding coming up. To buy ‘hantaran' and ‘door gifts'," said Wan Azizah.

Meanwhile, state PKR chief Kamarul Baharin Abbas said Umno-BN government had purposely been creating a non-issue in Selangor by harping on the so-called water crisis in that state.

"What about the dirty and stinky pipe water supplied to residents in Chuah, Bukit Pelanduk and Lukut? The problem was only solved after the residents protested and highlighted the issue in the media."- malaysiakini

Anwar: Dr M betul, jangan ikut 'syaitan'...

Bila berjalan, saya memerlukan pengawal peribadi sebab sekarang ramai sangat orang jahat.

cheers.
