Dear Friends,
I receive emails from CPT almost every day describing the terror of this situation. Don't know if any of the rest of you are on the CPT email list, but it certainly is a frequent reminder of how bad the situation is.
Appreciated receiving John's letter to the Obama campaign. Saturday there was a meeting here sponsored by the Obama campaign to get input for the Democratic platform, but there was also a policy person from the campaign who would in addition be sending all the comments made directly to the campaign. There are supposed to be 1400 of these meetings going on around the country. Anyhow, I went and talked about the Israeli/Palestinian situation and my concerns that policy statements so far have been so pro-Israel. I did acknowledge that he might have to say this to get elected, but he really needs to do something differently after (and if) he's elected. Many of the people in the room (it was a small group) agreed with what I was saying. You all might want to find out about meetings in your area. This one was listed on the campaign website along with other things that were happening in the area.
Peace and Love, Joanne
