Hello,

I'm trying to connect pat-0.8 to an SSAS 2008 cube. My SSAS connect
info is as follows:

host=dc1xxxx
instance=ssas
catalog=Analytic Services Project4
cube=Communications Analysis

What would the url look like (in connection manager), and is there
anything else that I need to configure.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Carl Petersen

Hi,

PAT is now known as saiku and we have stalled development in September to recreate saiku from scratch.
We just released saiku 2.0 RC today: http://www.analytical-labs.com

In order to use PAT or saiku with SSAS you need to enable XMLA on your SSAS instance. I think that article describes it well: http://wiki.openi.org/installation/setup-xmla-interface-for-olap-servers
If not just google for it, there should be plenty of hits for that.

The connection URL will then look like:
Once you have your XML/A enabled you can add a new datasource like described here: http://projects.analytical-labs.com/knowledgebase/articles/3
The saiku datasource file for SSAS will look like: http://192.168.150.130/olap/msmdpump.dll

type=OLAP
name=SSAS
driver=org.olap4j.driver.xmla.XmlaOlap4jDriver
location=jdbc:xmla:Server=http://192.168.150.130/olap/msmdpump.dll
username=username
password=password

Let us know how it works and good luck!

-Paul
