PDI - Set and Get Session Variables

I setup a simple ETL process with two transformations run within a job.

The job just runs the two transformations, namely: "Set Variables" and "Get Variables" in that order. The Get Session Variable step never gets the values from the Set Session Values step. I've tried everything, it seems there is a bug in the Get Session Variable? Has anyone had success using this step???
