Ok on that note, I have two breaking news to share.
1) I had heard from Passiflora kids that they had seen a Cobra!! I totally dismissed is as any rain-water snake is a cobra for Kids.
I know from my knowledge of snakes that Cobra are frequently found in jungle+human confluences as those areas abound in insects and rats on which thrive frogs and snakes on which thrive cobras and kraits. These snakes are really shy and would not bite unless threatened or stepped upon.
A scenraio like a football rolling over close to a snake is a percieved threat to it. Then a kid following the ball is a time for action, esp if the snake is mating, when it stands its ground.
And yesterday my worst fears came true when I saw some locals shooing away a baby Krait (
common Indian) (Kannada:
Kattige haavu) These are nocturnal creatures and might invade your 'dry' villas on rainy days post dusk !!
A few days back I saw a road flattenned Russel's viper in Sarjapur. Again this guy is easily provoked and very very dangerous.
There comes a snake replellant chemical that can be sprayed around the length and breadth of Passiflora. [Other layouts are relatively safe as construction is in ongoing and residents (read garbage) is less.]
Securing the perimeter is more than enough and will keep the central parts safe.
Either we invest in the same or ask the builder to do so.
p.s. such chemicals are environmentally very unhealthy and almost always lead to poisining of insects, birds etc.
2) Secondly the big news is that "Infosys is coming to town". I heard from an insider (a "Sarjapur sarpanch" himself) that Infosys is going to have its foundation stone laying ceremony (Bhoomi Pooja) in January and construction has already been contracted to Shobha builders.
While it will defenitely shoot Sarjapur prices up, up and up, I am not sure what other effects it is going to have.
So if you are thinking of opening your fav Pizza franchise in Sarjapur, now is the time to prepare the pitch.
that's one business sure to go over the roof as kids in Sarjapur are thoroughly pizza addicted and deprived, and no one wants to step outside the campus for food.
Thanks,
Niraj
