One of the big things in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle is its Eco Footprint and Neighborhood Action Policies that go hand in hand. With cheats, it's possible to enable or repeal any policy you don't like, or set the current eco footprint of the neighborhood. Let's learn how to cheat in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle!
This is a big one for setting atmosphere. Hit Control + Shift + C and type TestingCheats On. From there, you can now type Eco_Footprint.Set_Eco_Footprint_State # - there are three states you can put here: 0 is for Green, 1 is for Neutral, or 3 is Industrial. So Eco_Footprint.Set_Eco_Footprint_State 0 will bring the neighborhood to a green eco state. If you want to play in a dirty world, set it to 2 for Industrial but remember this may not make the trash appear.
I feel there is some possibility of this cheat changing for someone as it was originally meant to be Green, Neutral and Industrial. You can try using Green for the state # instead, if it fails to work but it Should continue to work this way based upon what I'm seeing in the game code.
Influence is used to "vote" - you spend it to vote so it feels like a currency. You can get 15 influence each time you shift-click the voting board and pick, "Give Influence". This requires TestingCheats On like all shift-click based cheats.

This one is very easy. Use Control + Shift + C and type TestingCheats On. Now you can head to the voting board or use your mailbox to change Action Plans. Note there is one kind for Neighborhood Action Plan Board and the other type are found on Community Spaces (these are for shared community lots). You need the first kind, for NAPs. Shift click the board or your mailbox and you'll be shown a list of all neighborhood action plans and can enact them there. It should be possible to repeal them as well, but this will not be the case at first when none are active. Click the NAP board to learn what plans are active at a given time. If none are listed up top outside the voting area, none are in effect.
As mentioned above, there are two types of voting boards. For this second kind, you need to travel to a community lot. From there, you can force the lot to change to any type you like - either Marketplace, Community Garden, or Maker Space. You can also return it to its default state. Shift click the board and pick the type you like. It's also worth noting that you can build here, and the build mode lets you change between the lot types so you can see what it would look like if set as a Marketplace, then if, through gameplay, you vote for Marketplace and it is enacted, the Market will be the one you designed. They just require certain types of objects depending on the configuration.Get Bits and Pieces for FabricationBits and Pieces are a new form of crafting material in The Sims 4 Eco LifestyleIn order to do this you need a Fabrication machine, which costs $1,800 Simoleons. You can then shift-click it with testingcheats on to be given 50 bits and pieces each time you select, "Give Bits and Pieces". None of the other crafting stations allow you to do this.
There are several traits you can give your Sims. A couple are rewards for completing the Green Technician or Civic Planner Careers (both of which stem from Civil Designer). Four additional traits are CAS traits, but people do enjoy going beyond the 3 we are strangely limited to. You can remove traits with Traits.Remove_Trait Traitname, just like below. See a full list of my Trait Cheats in The Sims 4.
There's a somewhat interesting cheat when you shift-click your Sim or an NPC. You can 'Set NPC Eco Behaviors' which I think gives a hidden trait that is used to help that Sim decide what they'll do. NPCs can have Entrepreneur, Eco Master, or Master Crafter hidden traits. It's probably more for autonomy than anything - meaning it's not something that will help you in a big way - but it is handy for making a Sim act like they should if you create a custom Sim and want them to be part of your town and fill the role you had in mind for them.
The cheats for these two Sims 4 skills is entirely predictable. Use stats.set_skill_level minor_juicefizzing 5 or stats.set_skill_level major_fabrication 10 to max out the skill. Further, you may wish to cheat materials. For juice fizzing, I'd probably use bb.showhiddenobjects and buy some rare fruit to grow because it's impractical to buy them for every 6 pack you make. For fabrication, I'd use the cheat materials ability on this page.
There are two new careers you can cheat as well, in Eco Lifestyle. First is the harder one: careers.promote adult_freelancer_agency_maker - this one will promote ou in the Freelance Maker career, which focuses on candle making, fabrication, and woodworking. The other is the new Civil Designer. This one is a simple Careers.Promote CivilDesigner.
Not working by typing it as above, nor if typed all in lowercase letters. I even tried typing in Green but when I did, got an error message that Green was not the right integer. It said the code is either: GREEN, NEUTRAL or INDUSTRIAL with a base of 10.
So the faux meat thing was tricky to figure out... You have to get the verticle garden and then click on it and click "grow cruelty free meat" (I also suggest upgrading it). The unfortunate thing is that is takes a couple days to grow, and you only get one meatcube from it (rather than 10 harvestables)... Speaking of harvestables- if you use the verticle garden then you will only get 7 harvestables, as opposed to the (normal) 10 (if you have seasons installed then the amount is even lower).
I also wondered if there was a cheat for that... couldn't find the item in Build/Buy even when using the cheat to unlock career items... I was trying to have a Freegan storyline where they furnish their home only with dumpster items so I don't want to play the career in this save, because that's Capitalism and this Sim is super against it...
Thanks for the comprehensive information! My game post installation of update and eco living won't let me attend events I'm invited to over the phone, I click the accept or the yes world equivilent and it doesnt then pop up to travel to said location :(
An alternative way to get bits and pieces is to shift-click your Sim (with testingcheats on of course) and then select the "Give Bucks..." option followed by selecting either "Recycle Bits" or "Recycle Pieces", depending on which resource you want.
I've played around with this and does look as though you can change the appearance of the apartment even if you have both the eco lifestyle options turned off. Turn on testingcheats, right click on the letter box or community board, select Instant Neighbourhood Action Plan (cheat) and then select Modern Development in ... In Grims Quarry the playable apartment building along with all the other apartment block and individual houses on that block will change immediately while in Conifer Station just the playable apartment building change. Whether all the other changes that come with Modern Development will occur over time I don't know.
Only thing to do is disable NPC voting in Game Options then load into households where NAPs have been enacted and use cheats to instantly repeal them. Mark these households as unplayed when you go back to play your normal active family.
With testingcheats on, shift-click the juice fizzing machine. There's options for juice ingredients, kombucha ingredients, and suspicious ingredients. Clicking one of those will give you 10 each of ALL plants in that category! Even really rare stuff like UFO or Death Flowers.
Is there a cheat to improve the quality of municipal concept blueprint? Mine are always poor quality even after I modify them. Don't know if it's a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong. Even if you don't have a cheat to improve their quality, any tips you can give me so that my municipal concept blueprint doesn't remain poor quality would be appreciated.
You can always revert your neighborhood through game play by adding industrial items, if you add enough the neighborhood will become polluted again and trash will show but you will lose the other initiatives.
my Sim got a prank call about inheritance money. I accepted the Money! Money! Money! option for the inheritance thing. But after I left the game and came back, the buff was gone. does anyone know how to get it back? i miss when the sims had timed objectives like this. i really love to spice up my game.

There is a new platform tool in The Sims 4. There's also a new Sentiments system, but it'll take some time to create a guide to that. Players can also use rental lots in any world now by changing lot types of builds in manage worlds.
I now have a guide page to Tiny Living Stuff where you can learn about Murphy Beds, the new death, as well as the lot bonuses you'll receive if you manage to keep the size of your lot down with this new pack's Tiny Home Lot Type.
This was inspired by a series, "Let's Play a Super Sim" in which I start at toddler and gradually take on the major bonuses. Here's a link to each part for people who are interested. You can also see the Let's Play as a Playlist on Youtube.
