Assassin's Creed Unity - Proper

So i have been watching some review on the assassins creed unity and it seems the game launched pretty bad. I'm looking for a game with a good story and an awesome open world that as a lot of game time (with sidde quest and exploring the map and things like that). Is the assassins creed unity a game that is good for me? ( i haven't played any assassin's creed title yet) ( I was looking into going to buy far cry 4 but with the summer sales i'm better buying the asssassin's creed unity and black flag instead; note that i'm looking for a good open world game) Thx for the help
