Sorryabout taking so long to get back to you. That is the TV app that I was talking about. Sorry for the confusion. You do not have any movies downloaded to the iPad. If you did, you would see the Downloaded on the left side under Library.

Look in the TV app. Tap on Library, then tap on Downloaded. You should see your movies in there. Tap on Edit in the upper right, select the movie by tapping the circle on the left and then tap Delete at the top.

The last few flights I have taken, I have not been able to watch any of the movies on the inflight entertainment. I can watch the TV Shows but not movies. It will not even open them. I checked to make sure Pop Ups were not being blocked, my app is up to date and my ios is up to date. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

I am having the same problem. Randomly just stopped working. I updated the pop ups as well and running latest iOS. I started another message about this and an employee responded a couple times and eventually just said it was a device problem.

I cant even watch TV. I have an iPad 9 with updated IOS. It was working last year, but did not work in February or 2 days ago. I get on the app, choose a movie, click on "Watch" and nothing happens. Same with TV. My wife's iPhone 11 got on fine, no problems. what is going on?!?

First, simply choose one of the many video player apps available from within the App Store. (Searching for video player returns many irrelevant results, I recommend searching for avi player or mp4 player or whatever your desired format is). I found flex:player and that has worked for my needs and is free but has pretty much no features beyond video playback. Other players provide more features but can cost between $0.99 and $4.99 generally.

Navigate to 'Documents on My iPad' (again, your name will vary) and find the application you just installed. It will look like an application with an icon but it is actually a folder for that app and its files (the user accessible ones at least).

Now all you have to do is copy your video files into this folder. When you next open your chosen video player, all of your movies should be visible and available for playback (assuming the video player supports your codecs, if it doesn't, another one probably does).

Note: I've generally found that if I load new video files onto the device while the app is open, I have to close and re-open the app for it to register the new files. However, some apps may be more proactive in scanning for new files.

Given its advanced multimedia capabilities, you can use the Apple iPad to store work-related movies for on-the-go viewing. Along with functioning as a personal screener while you travel or commute, it can also serve as a handy tool for presenting videos to clients or business partners at off-site locations. When it comes to organizing content on your iPad, it is essential to use iTunes since Apple developed the software to work natively with all iOS products. If you have a video in the MOV, MP4 or M4V format, you can watch it on your iPad once you add it to the iTunes library, create a compatible version of the media and perform the basic syncing operation.

I also have Plex, which lets me stream my own movie collection (ripped from my DVDs) to my TV via the Plex app. It also has a feature that lets me download those to my iPad for watching later without internet access.

Yes, their download options are all in different places and not always available for every show/movie (depending on the rights the service obtained). The download UI can also be different for TV shows versus movies, and some will conveniently let you download an entire season with one click.

For non-protected movies and TV shows that you can open on your Mac use the Mac Finder (right click-Share) to Airdrop the files to the iPad. In my case they end up as videos in the Photos app - they can then be played directly from Photos. Otherwise they might show up as Downloaded videos in the AppleTv app.

Another option is to store the video files on an SD card and connect to iPad using the Apple SD card adapter. Again they should be playable from the Photos app (but might need to be temporarily copied to the iPad). I am assuming it is an iPad with a Lightning port - not USB-c.

Get a free player app such as nPlayer or Infuse. Load your movies into the local library of the app. I do this when I take my iPad on a trip and can watch them in an airplane (without an internet connection). When done, you can just delete them on the iPad.

I used to have a lot of movies in the old iTunes era and they were stored on an external drive and I could watch them streamed to my old AppleTV (I did even have a first generation AppleTV that required the files to be synced to its internal hard drive, but that is history).

Today the same files remains on external drive and I can access them via the AppleTV app. I can sync them to my iPad by connecting it to my Mac and selecting exactly what files to sync. It does for not sync the files to any other device. (I can stream them to any of my devices if I have my Mac on and I am at my home. The old fashioned way of streaming.)

It is however much more job than just selecting the files you want to watch offline from your favourite streaming service. So that is what I usually do nowadays. Just as proposed by everyone else. But it is possible to use the AppleTV app to watch any offline movies if they are converted to a format that is supported by the app.

iPad is the perfect tool designed to provide its owners with truly stunning experience of playing high-quality videos. This article describes 4 ways of putting movies on iPad without iTunes. Ladies and gentlemen, enjoy the show!

NOTE: sometimes VLC transfer might go down the drain if an iOS device goes into sleep mode. So, for a smoother operation, make sure the display of your iPad stays on for the whole duration of the transfer. Also, VLC may prove unreliable putting movies on iPad if the files come in great size or quantity.

This wikiHow teaches you how to purchase and sync movies to your iPad. Now that the iTunes app is no longer available for the iPad, you can purchase, rent, and view movies using the Apple TV app. If you want to sync movies from your computer to your iPad, you can do so using Finder (macOS Catalina) or iTunes (Mojave and Windows).

Make sure to pick a source that is legal and offers movies you actually want to watch. Purchased movies, rentals, and subscription services provide reliable quality and availability compared to free online streaming sites.

The length of the transfer depends on the number and size of movies chosen. When completed, safely eject the iPad from the computer. The movies are now available for offline viewing through the TV app while traveling!

Am I able to watch all Roku channels on my iPad? Am I restricted to only the one channel that is currently on the TV? I have saved "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" on my iPad. Can I watch that on my iPad independently of the TV?

Thanks all for your assistance. I think I get it now. You cannot use the channel guide to mirror streaming shows on your TV directly to your iPad, but there is a limited amount of Roku content that is available on your iPad using the app.

The key is finding on your iPad what is viewable and what is viewable for free on that device. Sometimes I can view shows on my iPad that are currently streaming, but I cannot access them if I search that particular title in the app. I don't see why that is.

@PopeyeTheSailor, if you're speaking of The Roku Channel which is an app on Roku devices, you can use the mobile app or the website to watch the free content that's available there. If you want to use any other app that's available on a Roku device on your iPad, you'll need to find an equivalent iOS app. The mobile app is not a substitute for an actual Roku device.

You can watch Roku Channel content on your iPad via the Roku app, but no other Roku device is involved. That is, your Ultra would not be a part of that mix. You can use the Roku app on your iPad regardless of whether or not there are any other Roku devices. But the viewing would be limited to Roku Channel content, which is not the entire Roku app library.

Many apps and services do make apps for both Roku and iPad. Netflix, for example, has a Roku app and an iPad app. If you subscribe to Netflix directly, you could use the credentials to watch on either device. But again, the devices are not connected in any way, wired or wireless.

I like the use of the word "no", but I would like a little clarification. When you say "You can watch Roku Channel content on your iPad via the Roku app", are you saying only that the channel guide is viewable but not the shows themselves? Are any Roku shows viewable on the iPad? If the answer is "no" the issue is settled and I am done.
